Does anybody know how to write a daemon script that will let a PC on a network think that an ISO on a fileserver on the same network is actually the real CD in the drive of the PC? Will this work on 24 machines on the network using the same ISO at the same time? The games in question are Act of War and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Inless the Game does Database verification then you just need
a Crack or Patch. If you are talking about the whole Internet
Verification through the Application then you need to do a LAN
or WAN DNS spoof.
That method is basicly just Sniffing The Packets from the Game, and
if Encrypted crack the Cipher; then Spoofing the Traffic on another
LAN node to make the Game think it is actually connected to the
Game Dev's Webserver/Database.You would then send back the key
or Boolean Value to the Node the Game is running on allowing it to
Install or Init.
A good example of this is the PSP Web Browser Hack which allows
you to spoof traffic and Relay HTTP Traffic.I suggest you read up
on Cracking Software and "Man In the Middle Attacks".
If you are talking about running the same Copy of the Game on alot
of different Computers then the Crack/Patch should work as it has
for Years.

I don't think you understand, maybe I should expand a bit more.
I just started working in a gaming cafe, and the owner is having a bit of trouble with two games. All games in there are legal copies, licensed for public use, etc. It's just that staff can't be changing cd's in each computer for every game that is played and customers cannot be trusted to not steal the discs. They're Alienware machines though, which have a door that is only unlocked by a key only staff possess so once the disc is in, it's safe. All the games there are cracked and playable without a CD except for two; Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Act Of War. The CD's for these games have to be constantly swapped aroung because there is no no-cd crack for them, and daemon (newest version) can't mount the ISO because of some sort of copy protection. But, it can mount the ISO on the fileserver, and I'm wondering if

The No-cd cracks don't work for him. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking here.

D-Tools is awesome. If you are having any issues at all do the following first.
Make sure you have the latest STABLE release which is 3.47. If you dont have this, get it, a good wack of programs will not run at all without this version.
D-Tools can be used to mount files over the network
To do this, in the file location type this: \\<puterwhere the file is>\<location of the file>
Act of war has a crack which will work with d-tools 3.47, this is fact, trust me on this ;)
Weather or not the network will be fine with 24 hosts trying to download the file at once, is no.
Windows XP only supports 10 connections at once. So, even if you have a g'bit backbone and whatever else, you will not be able to have more than 10 active connections.
I do not have the reasources to test if d-tools will close the connection after it uses the file, but im inclined to belive not as the session will still remain active.
