Hey there everybody. I consider myself a writer (lately, anyway), but have been uninspired lately. Generally I like to write about absurd things--I've written an essay about Vikings and scurvy, for example--so if somebody posts an inspiring idea for me to write about, then that person will get an essay/story.

Whenever I'm at a loss for something to write about, I just start writing haikus about nothing in particular. You'd be amazed how they can get the ideas flowing...

I've never been much for poetry of any kind, but once I got really baked and came up with

I just breathed fire
I just got some smoke on me
And nobody knows.

Write about ninjas attacking a small communist village in China, where all the inhabitants are really zombies and have herpes. The ninjas that first went there to destroy the villagers are now in a battle to save their own lives. Who will win?

The game I designed (totally original idea on my part though) as my end of year project was based on a character 'The Invisible Newt'... Give it a shot...

I usually just listen to music and smoke cigarettes to get influence or inspiration. Put on an emotional song, and start picturing a story in your mind. Let the pieces work together until you actually form a plot, event, or storyline.

That's a fantastic idea. It might be a little too elaborate, but I'll definately see if I can do anything with that. It's definately bizarre enough to have caught my interest, especially the zombies with herpes. You get bit by one of those, and I'd definately call that a bad day.

Mayby they can be Super Herpes; similar to Super AIDS. These will be a new form of herpes, where they are not only incurable but they take over the body faster than ebola.

If you lack inspiration, a simple exercise is to write about your surroundings. Describe everything you can see. Use metaphors. Then go somewhere else and write about it.

Writing is one of those things where it helps if you write. If you sit around, thinking, it's not going to come - at least, not as easily.
Just take a pen and some paper and write the first words that come to your head, and it'll go from there.

You will note that this is how I post.

or you won't.
