I'm surprised no one else has posted about this yet, even though I believe it was only screened with in the last 24 hours worldwide.

If you've seen it, what did you think? Compared to all the other Star Wars films, how do you think it rates?

Don't get me wrong I'm by no means a Star Wars fanatic, however my flatmate is and insisted we go see the premiere last night (Wednesday 19/05/05) at midnight. I agreed for some reason and was appalled at the number of "nerds" dressed as the various characters.

This sort of devotion to a film is alien to me. I've always enjoyed Spiderman comics however it didn't cross my mind to "dress up" at the cinema to see it. Is the Star Wars story really that intriguing to people?

I -am- a Star Wars fanatic, and I'm holding the faith that Revenge of the Sith is going to be amazing. I refuse to believe anything less.

I'm going to try and see it tonight, and if not, I'll probably see it tommorow night. So I'll post my opinion and such after I view it.

the NERDS that dress up as characters are usually the people who are 30 years old or older, that's because they're part of a generation that saw the movies when they came out and such...

One of the coolest people i've ever met, a broadcasting teacher i knew when i was in highschool is a die hard fan.. last night he went and saw the movie wearing a jedi robe that he made himself, and with a lightsaber...

starwars is just one of those things that people love to see because it's not ordinary, it has a story that is "fun" to follow (compared to things like the matrix and such) and it lets your imagination roam.

hell i absolutely love starwars, but i'm not going to dress up... sadly i do know a good bit about it.. I'm also 20, if i were older i'd likely dress up too, just cause it'd be fun.

from what I've heard abotu it, it's good, but not as great as people though ust because they got hyped up about the film... I refuse to get hyped up and i'm actually expecting lower of what it might be so it's likely going to be great to me.

A bunch of us young guys are going to see it tonight. I was considering dressing up, nothing wrong there, it's fun and it adds to the atmosphere.

Okay, all I have to say about that movie is...

Amazing. Just utterly amazing. Words cannot describe how great it was. Right now, I'm questioning in my mind if Sith is possibly the best one of all six. I know it seems like a sin, but it's just that good.

Get up. Go outside. Run to your nearest theater. Buy tickets for whatever showing you can, and get your ass in the theater. Watch this movie.

Hell yes! Saw it Thursday night, and it was beautiful. I will tell you all right now that the first scene with Vader in helmet & mask was VERY disapointing. And the Emperor had some silly lines of dialogue too. Overall however Episode III made the perfect transition between the childish stupidity of I and II, and the childish awesomeness of IV, V, and VI.

My skin still twinges whenever I think about how Vader came to need that black suit. Ouch!

I saw the film last night. Maybe it's because I had just seen a comedic play at one of the high schools, maybe it's because it was 11:50pm, and maybe it's because I had a large bowl of weed about an hour before I got to the theater, but for whatever reason I was disappointed with Episode III. I enjoyed the opening in how as soon as the credits went away, Obi Wan and Anakin immediately had shit to deal with. I didn't like the General Grievous characher (maybe because they could only allow him so much character development, which there wasn't much of), and Count Dooku was just a douche.
I think I may have enjoyed Episode II more than this one. Even though every scene with Hayden Christensen in Episode II was more painful to watch than the previous, Anakin still had substance and soul (even if Christensen can't represent that). Every scene with Natalie Portman was just a cop-out scene of wussiness (mainly because Hayden Christensen was in all but a few of those scenes).
This movie was just a bridge of filler from Attack of the Clones to A New Hope. A bridge made of cardboard. But I must say, Christensen didn't do a bad job of acting when he was stranded on the molten rocks. Jesus Christ, was that a painful scene! That, and the following scenes were my favorite parts of the movie because it really showed what they had to do to save and recreate Anakin, but if you ask me then I would have liked to see Anakin be forced to adapt and struggle with the Vader suit. After all, much of his body was destroyed.
Other than that, the Anakin character was poorly written (and that also goes for Attack of the Clones). Obi-Wan Kenobi, whenever he reminisces about Anakin in the original films, has always spoken highly of Anakin and has said that he was a good friend. Maybe I missed something but Anakin and Obi-Wan have never seemed to be friends. Anakin was some punk who wanted more power, and Obi-Wan was supposed to be the wise one who knew that Anakin wasn't ready for the power he sought, which really pissed Anakin off.
What I did like about the film was that Emperor Palpatine got a lot of screen time and character development. He was always an evil motha, but I liked seeing him more in his "prime" and how he got to be so evil. So all in all, Ian McDiarmid was the best part of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

I loved that movie. Saw it this arvo. I thought the characterisations were actually quite good.
Although it seems that Anakin is always at odds with "Ben" because he's always dissatisfied with his lot, the two have spent many years together and have fought side by side many times- if they weren't close, they'd fall apart at the seams.

The parts I enjoyed [ironically] were the parts where you could see Anakin turning and going down the path to the darkside. When he unwittingly was drawn into the darkside whilst disempowered, and gave in to it. Although you can see the futility and senselessness of it all, it's attractive somehow.

I thought Episode III was simply awesome! Episode IV and V remain the best installments in the saga although Revenge of the Sith was definitely the finest of the prequilogy. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and obviously had been anticipating the release of the final installment for what seems like forever. Revenge of the Sith was a great conclusion to the saga. Kudos must go to George Lucas for including the scene in which Bail Organa and Yoda step into the hallway of the Rebel Blockade Runner that opened Star Wars. It's hard to believe that this is the same exact hallway in which we got our first look at Vader so many years ago.

Is there anyone out there who dressed up? I desperately wanted to dress up in something recognisably Star Wars but I didn't have the time to locate a costume.

I work for a cinema group, and there was quite a few people who turned upto our premieir dressed up. Even after the gala, we still had people comming in dressed up, we even had light sabaur fights happening in the tunnel and in the foyer, quite cool to work through.

I saw Star Wars Episode 3 the day after it came out, and i thought it was MUCH, MUCH better than episodes 1 and 2. They made anakin more abitious, and made him want more for himself. I'm not much of a Star Wars "fanatic" but, i enjoyed the movies. Great work, but a giant gap between 3 and 4. I highly recommend seeing it if you haven't done so already.
