Two things turn me off it; the first Manhunt was dire. The only reason it sold anything was that murder that was blamed on it and the news story that made it out the be the most horrifically violent game ever contemplated. I actually rented it the very night I read the news article. What a let down.
Second thing is they edited it to get an M rating instead of AO. If it isn't as violent as humanly possible, what's the point? It's not the gameplay.

Yeah, I admit it's the murder techniques that draw me to it.
I did enjoy the game play & the story line on the first one though. Manhunt 2 seems to have an interesting plot too.
I disagree with the ban though, look at fucking Hostel (http://www.hostelfilm.com/), violent as fuck...

I liked manhunt because it is violent, sick, twisted and you are just killing people to survive.

Why does the rating board let Hostel 2 and shit off with an 18 but ban a computer game? Anyone know? What's the difference apart from one is real people (well actors) and the other a computer graphic?

I hear they banned Manhunt 2 in the UK because that stupid women bought it for her son, then when a "friend" beat him to death to get his wallet she blamed it on Manhunt, and the offender didnt even own the game.
So to avoid further criticism the BBFC banned it.
Also I read that a study showed that people can tell the difference from a movie, but some cant see the difference between acting something out in video games and reality.

Yeah, with a video game you get the impression that "you" did it. I like watching good goals on TV but if I dominate Chelsea in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, it's a different feeling altogether. Kinda make me feel like going out and kicking a football around... *Ahem*

How many people have robbed a shop with a scream mask?
Or thrown a box of 500 rockets into a strore whilst wearing a scream mask... GOOGLE both.
Fuck the police.

Its completely ridiculous.
Thousands of people in the UK have a copy of Manhunt, I being one of them. One event that had nothing to do with the game happened to one person who owned the game. So they ban the sequel.
Logic being?
