Well, it's not an MAOI nor an SSRI, but it does do something to your serotonin. Hmm, let me do a little research...

This (http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=254075) looks like a scare tactic, but there's talk of Amitriptyline (with an "i") potentiating sedatitives. Might want to keep it in mind.

I have quite a high tolerance to amytryptaline anyways.

When I sobered up the next day I knew mixing an upper with a downer was a bad idea so opted out of it.

You're talking about Elavil? In any case, it is an Antidepressant....so I wouldn't take them in conjunction with each other, not even less than a day apart, but I'm just careful. You should be fine if you really are taking one in the morn and one in the evening. Cant promise the comedown will be pleasant though :(
