Is there anywhere in the world where it's legal to grow marijuana in large amounts?

Theres a Garden thing near where I live run by the Duchess.

The Prince will officially open the second phase of The Alnwick Garden, in Alnwick, Northumberland, which includes the UK's only public poison garden, growing plants such as cannabis and coca under lock and key.

They've got other drugs in there too, alongside ricin and other 'poisonous plants'.

Duchess grows opium and cannabis. The Duchess of Northumberland will be allowed to grow drugs, including cannabis and opium, at Alnwick Gardens (http://www.alnwickgarden.com/)

The propagators and some plants were stolen when she first opened it. Rumor has it the dope now gets sprayed with something making it useless.

Hope thats a little help. I can't find much on Google for 'Legal cannabis farms', it just brings up a whole load of news about police raids on farms & legislation.

It's legal in Switzerland (http://www.tacethno.com/tacpublish/cannareport.html) I believe, as long as you don't smoke it.

While Hemp is mentioned again in Article 8 - a very important article - it is explicitly stated that this applies only to hemp for the production of narcotics! Haschisch on the other hand is illegal in itself, regardless of the intended use. That should mean that all Cannabis which is not intended for the production of narcotics can be freely purchased, sold and possessed since it is quite evidently not regulated.

Its legal to grow in the uk as long as you have a licence from the Home Office, acording to what ive heard anyone can apply for one.

Judging by the regulations in the UK I would say yes, not sure though.

The chances of the Home Office here in the uk giving anyone a licence to grow weed for personal/wholesale reasons are slim to none, they had to bring in the licence system so the chemist companys can work on extracting the THC and making other man made 'safe' drugs from it. And seeing as its a drug, they would be breaking the law by growing it, so my guess they gave who ever was the prime minister at the time aload of cash and he gave them a 'licence to grow'. But in doing so they have to accept and process any aplications made for a licence from anyone.

Best bet is just to sod it and put a grow up, dont tell anyone about it who you wouldnt trust with your life and you should be okay. I know people who have been growing for years without getting busted because they only deal with the same people each time, as they say no new faces. But at the end of the day it is breaking the law and if your not prepaired to take what ever comes if you get busted then dont do it.

You have to have a legitimate reason to grow it, have a clean criminal record and the chances are that if you live in a town like mine where there is alot of illegal marijuana going around they wont give you a permit to grow it...

Yup id have to agree with you, you do need a proper reason for growing it. and just like yourself, with me being in Nottingham the chances of them giving me a licence are very slim indeed. Like i said before best bet is just to 'f*ck it' and start growing, as long as you keep it a secret you should be ok. Just because you can apply for licences from the home office doesnt mean they'll give you one...
According to wikipedia you can apply for a licence for just about anything including rocket launchers...
But like marijuana growing there unlikely to give you one...

i thought i said the chances of anyone getting a licence to grow for persoanl use/dealing are slim/none, ok perhaps i should of said none. But the fact still remains that the licence system is there and anyone can apply for one.

I would also like to point out im no teenage stoner, wish i was, life was so much cheaper. Now its all bills bills bills bills bills :sad2:
