At the heart of Tibetan Buddhism is a system where texts and practices are distributed only to those who have been empowered in them by a qualified teacher, and then not passed on to others or even discussed openly in detail. It is said that otherwise their power to do benefit is lost and instead they are likely to do a lot of harm. Therefore, I cannot distribute these texts openly, or at least without getting permission, which hasn't happened This may change, since many vajrayana texts are being published nowadays.
(Source (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/vajratext.html))

Secrecy is an important cornerstone of tantric Buddhism, simply to avoid the practices from harming oneself and others without proper guidance. One should realise that it is not even allowed to explain the full symbolism and psychology of the practice to the un-initiated, so obviously, this leads to misunderstanding and dismissal. Tantric techniques may initially appear to consist of ritualistic nonsense; however, it should only be practiced on the basis of a thorough understanding of Buddhist philosophy and strictly following the traditions. (The Buddhist Primer by Dhammasaavaka, p. 78 (ISBN: 1411663349))

In other words, there are certain texts of Tantric Buddhism which are not available to us unwashed masses. Under the patronizing pretense that the texts either won't be understood and/or may cause spiritual and bodily harm, these texts are kept hidden from us by the Buddhist elites. They are available only to those who have received the 'proper' authorization to view them. You cannot buy these texts at the bookstore, loan them from the library, or borrow them from a friend. They are kept tucked away under lock and key, ostensibly for your own protection.

Well, fuck that shit. Nobody has a right to suppress information.

So to kick this thread off, at the bottom you'll find three such restricted texts, available totally, well, unrestricted ;). These are texts which our tantric Buddhist friends feel that you are undeserving of; texts which they go to great lengths to keep away from you. Enjoy!

But first, here are a couple other sites that deal in these restricted tomes. Should you chance to come across one or two (say you happen to know a tantric Buddhist, or mayhap the locks on the back door of a particular book distributor were a wee bit rusty that night?not that I'm encouraging anything illicit), scan them, take digital photos, or manually transcribe them, and post them here; thus making the information contained therein be available to all (whilst of course respecting any sort of existent Buddhist intellectual property laws ;)).

~ Nalanda Translation Committee (http://anonym.to/?http://www.shambhala.org/ntc/publications/restricted_vajrayana.htm) - "Please note that all restricted texts are available only to Shambhala sangha members who have completed the appropriate required practices and received the respective transmissions."

~ Ratna Shop (http://anonym.to/?http://www.gomdeusa.org/Ratnashop/restrictedtexts.htm) - "Ratna Shop is privileged to distribute texts for the advanced Vajrayana practitioner. However, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche requested that certain texts be restricted to students under the guidance of an accomplished Vajrayana teacher. In order to respect his wishes, please send a letter signed by your teacher confirming your qualifications?"

Now then, without further ado, here are the three aforementioned secret texts for your reading pleasure:

~ Commentary on Longchenpa's The Precious Treasury of Dharmadhatu (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/cydpdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/cydrtf.zip)) "one of Longchenpa's seven treasures, on the highest of the Tibetan Nyingma teachings, ati yoga. Available to vajrayana students of a qualified teacher who have received the pointing out instruction."

~ Shechen Gyaltsap Rinpoche's The Instructions of the Vidyadhaara - The Concise Quintessential Commenbtary on the Saadhan - The Utterly Secret Razor Knife Vajrakiilaya (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kilapdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kilartf.zip)) "Available to those who have the Vajrakilaya Empowerment."

~ Mipham's commentary on the Kalachakra Tantra (The Vajra Sunshiner: which Illuminates the Words and Meaning of the Kālacakra Tantra) with the Kaalachakra Sadhana: Illuminating the Essence, "available to those with the Kalachakra tantric empowerment.":

* The Kaalachakra Sadhana: Illuminating the Essence: (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/ksadpdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/ksadrtf.zip) TXT (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/ksadtxt.zip)).

*The Vajra Sunshiner - Parts:
-I: External Chapter: "The Arrangement of the World Realm" (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc1pdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc1rtf.zip) (alternate scan: RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc1.rtf)))
-II: Commentary on the Inner Chapter (RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc2rtf.zip))
-III: Commentary on Chapter three, the Empowerment Chapter of Kālacakra (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc3pdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc3rtf.zip))
-IV: Commentary on Fourth chapter of Means of Practice (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc4pdf.zip) RTF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc4rtf.zip))
-V: Commentary on the Kālacakra Wisdom Chapter (PDF (http://anonym.to/?http://www.mountaindev.com/d/kc5pdf.zip))

Once again, if you get your mangled tentacles on any other restricted texts, do share and help keep knowledge public, not hidden away behind closed temple doors, available only to those who have been deemed 'worthy.'

Enjoy!

Greetings,

Tantric Buddhism has 2 general levels. One is the public knowledge, the second is secret initiation.

Any knowledge or texts that is transmittable to public is known as 1st level. So what is true secret Tantra? In fact, no one knows, unless you have been taught in real secret Tantra.

To the enlightened eye, the entire human race is delusded by the conventional knowledge and science. Thus how can humans believe a master who is 500 years old? I can tell you it is possible for a Tantric master to live 500 years old and beyond, in fact, there are many other 'unexplainable' things.

In fact, those who possess real Tantric wisdom all have supernormal abilities, such as levitation, poly-kinesis, psarapsycho-abilities. They are all real supernomal humans who master the abilities of their souls.

I have only classify it as 2 levels, in fact, elaborately you can distinct it further to even more complex levels.

Hope you understand.

Regards.

Wow. That's pretty rich. Hopefully DIzzIE has grown up a bit in the last two years, but since this thread has been brought back from the dead I'm compelled to clear this up a bit.

The idea of restricted texts in Tantric Buddhism is not about suppressing information at all. To the shock and dismay of literalists, the fact remains that "words are not words," and without context they very well can be misunderstood. There are in fact tantras from Ancient India that exhort the yogin to "kill your father and make union with your mother." Now, if you want to make that a nat'l headline you go right ahead. (While you're at it, storm the Holy of Holies on YomKippur with a beer bong, in the interest of "freedom" won't you?)
Now, does that mean what it says? Or perhaps it means divorce yourself from obligations to your guru and marry the universe in order to complete the training. Or maybe your father is the visualized deity, a mental fabrication which in the end must be destroyed and your mother is the basic space of mind.
Better just kill your father and have sex with your mom, since that's what it says to do.

No, in fact, this is not about suppressing information, and your zeal to save the masses from this elitist conspiracy will in fact do harm, and if these sacred texts you're so interested in revealing have in fact anything worth revealing, you will understand that the consequences others reap from misunderstanding these highly codified and purposefully non-literal texts will certainly be shared by you yourself. If you are not afraid of karma, if you do not believe in the basic tenets of Dharma, enough to respect the living tradition, then why are you so interested in raping the library? These texts are not self-evident manuals about the "Truth" that somehow is being kept from your eyes in the interest of keeping you down. The Buddhadharma is entirely geared toward lifting the human race up, evolving compassion and wisdom and freeing everyone from suffering. Do not misunderstand.

As for "unwashed masses," if you bothered to look into it the difficulty of becoming considered "washed" (your term) is far less than the difficulty of actually working the teachings and making a meaningful use of them.

Better to go back to worrying about the government and UFO's. You'll get much more out of it and do much less damage: win/win.

[edit:]
ok, just perused DIzzIE's site. Nevermind, I'm sure this post will fall on deaf ears.
