Assassin Creeds Wrist Blade

After watching several videos about a video game called Assassins Creed, The character you play has some type of spring power blade system, I was wondering if anyone has made on or has any ideas how to make one. I'll post some links and videos w/ maybe some info.

why not carry a switchblade instead, tape it to your hand where the button is in reach of your thumb. why bother spending money and time building something.

why even bother with that, i imagine that the bar there would inhibit wrist movement. it also puts your wrist at an odd angle making your grip iffy at best.

i just carry a CRKT one hand open, double safety lockback. good 6 in blade. ive beat people to the draw with that while they had a switchblade

Rather than creating this device completely from scratch why not simply replicate/take the mechanism from a retractable baton? They offer a small selection on www.bladeplay.com, search around there, purchase one and experiment. Good luck.
