On my way to watch a Rugby game the other day and we drove past a bunch of cows making love. There was a lot of "mooing"...
Anyways I am pretty certain the mods wouldnt have deleted your thread. If the mods did not like your thread they would simply move it to the Flame Lounge. As it is not there the mods probably havent touched it.
You are sure you posted it...?

Yup, this is the way it generally works. The only threads that are deleted are either spam or threads that violate one of our rules (though in case of the latter, even then we usually don't delete them but either lock them and leave them in the original section that they were posted in or move them to the FL). I also can't see any log of a thread being deleted recently in P&S, so it must have been a random forum glitch, or perhaps you clicked on 'preview post' instead of 'submit post'?
At any rate, feel free to (re)post your thread...(incidentally, you should always save copies of the threads you are making so that you can repost them if something like this happens).
