Do any of you play this, and if so what do you think of it. I got pretty far into it but ultimatly got board and couldnt finish. Do you think using mods adds to the game experiance or takes away from the difficulty of achieving tasks in the game to the point where the game sucks

Mods in oblivion are like cheats in GTA games IMO. They may make the game more fun for a short while, but they definitely shorten the life of it.

I love Oblivion. I just started a new game of it tonight, as it happens, on the 360 (my laptop's integrated graphics wouldn't be too keen on Oblivion.)

Ashamed to say I've never played Oblivion....

What's it like? Because I've heard nothing but how good it is - but why?

What is so good about it?

The character creation is incredibly in-depth. That's the biggest point. Apart from that it's just an amazing game overall.

You can join a bunch of sweet guilds and steal whatever you want.

While Oblivion was a pretty awesome game, I think Morrowind is definitely the better of the two.

Although, Oblivion did have a better stealth/fighting/magic system, so it wins points there.

It can be a bit odd sometimes, especially when you hear NPCs have conversations that consist of:
'so, what news of the other provinces'
'nothing I'd like to talk about'
'I saw a mudcrab the other day'
'really'
'I hear Bradon Lirrian was a vampire'
'wow'
'goodbye!'

but overall it was a pretty cool game.

EDIT: also, the dark brotherhood made Oblivion ultimately better.

I've never played this one. All I ever played was CS:S which was amazing and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory which is the best game ever made.

I'd play a Redguard then whiten his skin a lot. I liked the Redguard race and then I would make him look like me.

I play this on my 360 a lot. Its one of my favorite games. I have started over and now I'm currently playing as an Lvl 9 Imperial custom class: Adventurer. But my best game was a female Dark Elf, Lvl11 Warrior class. That was back when I had my 1st gen Xbox and I had the Shivering Isles class. I don't have the DLC on my new 360, damn built in hard drive!!
