Inspired by my new user name at Gamespot I thought I'd find out what everyones main mode of transport is. Plus I like showing people my car.

Nice car.
It's incredibly expensive to drive here, so I cycle most places now that I live in the town. When I lived in the country, I had 10 miles to travel to work every day so I drove the most economical vehicle around.

What I use most of my life:
Turbo charged or are they stock? Only kidding.
I understand the UK is thoroughly unfair to car drivers. From what I've heard you guys/gals pay a ridiculous amount in insurance for any sort of vehicle.
What's fuel like over there? I currently pay around $1.05 cents AUS per litre for premium unleaded. I would expect it was cheaper over there?
From my own experience though 10 years ago, you really didn't need a car to get around England/Scotland, as everything was within walking/train distance.
I'd also like to add mopeds/motorbikes rock, however I appear to be incapable of riding motocross bikes in a straight line, so I have a great deal of respect for those who do so regularly.

Stock. I'm thinking 'bout pimping my ride though. Add some racing suspension and tires. New spoiler and carbon fiber hood. Get me a good sound system too. :D

It's a '99 Yamaha Blaster 200cc, for as small as it is that thing moves pretty damn good, my friend has a Yamaha Warrior 350cc. It's nice but the guy who had it before him didn't take care of it..

Hoofin it now. Had a Ford Escort(that was gay and made all sorts of strange noises) till a few weeks ago. Had to sell it since cars don't count as carryon baggage on Greyhound.

I drive a 1.2l 16v Clio. Just got it last week.
Yes, we do have to pay extortionate prices for insurance.
We pay on average 1euro a litre for petrol (1.23 USD, 0.67 GBP, 1.58 AUD)

Ours is more like 82p per litre ($1.50USD, $1.85CAD, $1.93AUD, ?1.22, 163 Yen)

Holy shit you guys get cheap gas. I live in Texas. So yeah. Do I NEED to explain how oil and gas flows through the American economy? And the price is still around $2.02. It was higher till recently. Around $2.35.
Everything on Fords have problems. Take a look at your front axles. Notice anything missing? How bout grease ports? Removable CV boots? Nope. Not there. It is all most impossible to perform basic service on many Ford models. Because they fail to inclube parts that facilitate servicing.

Personally, I think Americans should pay at least twice as much for petrol as anyone else... this could go for the likes of Canada and Australia too. If you want to drive huge cars, then you should be paying for it!

speaking of big cars...i drive a 1988 Ford F-150. 302 cId. 5000CC. although its the mid-size motor for that truck it does a damn good job. ive got 332000 miles on it. runs great. Fords transmissions are good. unless you fuck them up. most ford tranny's arent made to go rock crawling or stump jumping. ive messed up two transmissions doing those very things. and almost everything on the f-150's are easy to work on. anything that has broke on it i've fixed except for the ball joints when they wore out. the only reason i didnt fix them was because they have to be pressed in and i dont have a press. but brakes, steering etc. ive done.

Dude, they DO pay for it. The bigger the vehicle the bigger the tank is so it costs a LOT to fill up, and I'm assuming they burn gas like nothing so they have to fill them constantly.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the bigger your engine, the more it costs per litre.

Shut up. I don't drive a bigass gas guzzler. And we all pay the same prices. No gas station I've ever heard of has some attendant named Goober charging people in Escalades twice as much for gas. We all get raped equally. So just shutup.

gallons /= liters. multiply their prices by about 3.7 and see if it still seems cheap. my car has a 70 liter tank...

i have 140.8 liter gas tank. but in good ol' american terms that means 37.2 gallons. i get 12 miles per gallon on the highway. that means driving in highway miles i can go almost 450 mi. or about 725 km, on one tank of gas. right now the gas price in my town is 2.02...that means it takes about 75 dollars to fill up my truck....or about 65 euros.

For 10 litres I get about 60 miles, so for 10euro I get about 60 miles.
