If i knew that i would could get shot by everyone i saw on the street, i would never commit a crime. Its as simple as that. You commit a crime and you get a bullet in the head as punishment. You'll note after the UK banned hand guns, gun crime increased from 40 Deaths a year to 65, in approximately two years. The ban was implemented in response to an incident in Scotland [Not part of England, Wales or Northern Ireland] where a retarded Paedophile [Who shouldn't have been able to own a firearm in the first place.] murdered children.

Gun crime will continue to rise, regardless of whether handguns [The main offending weapon is illegal or not. I think in five years there have only been a minority of incidents involving a Sub-Machine gun and the only other weapon was an Assault Rifle an AK-47 to be exact.].

There are other causes of gun crime, which comes mainly from the Gangland [AKA Da Gangsta] scene. If Rammstein and KMFDM can be responsible for a school massacre [You will note none of their lyrics incite any kind of school violence] then 50 Cent, his homies, his music and his video game 'Bulletproofz' should be labeled partially responsible for people taking his and other Rappers lyrics and thinking it is acceptable to gun someone down.

Oh and a ban on firearms won't stop someone who wants to commit a massacre from actually carrying out their intention. If you make the right connections then you can obtain a firearm, relatively easy.

but what about other places? I feel reasonably safe in Europe. Back home, I'd never walk alone or walk alone drunk! There are ghettos and gang types everywhere in the major US cities. There are shootings everyday in the greater Bay Area. And, yes, I profile blacks back home, not here. No, not racist, just cautious.
While sad, 65 deaths isn't a high a number for the UK at all! We have double that in one city alone in the Bay Area alone! And who were the 65? Gang members? Drug dealers? Internal matters like domestic violence?

Black murderers are the biggest threat in American society. It's just statistics, but most of those murderers come from low-income areas, as liberals would quickly point out. Is that any excuse for murdering somebody, income? Hell no! Say low-income is the cause, it's still a black majority committing those crimes. The point is, my conclusion is still the same. I will stereotype to feel safe. I won't walk in a ghetto, I will turn away or shift direction when I cross hip-hop/gangster types, I won't walk alone at night. Doesn't matter if they are black, white or Hispanic, but it's the blacks and Hispanics that run in gangs and talk broken English in my country. I wouldn't go as far as to say that about me, but I understand your point. I think it's a sad world I live in where I have to stereotype (on the street only, btw), but I'd avoid white "gangs" as well. I'm sure when people make me nervous they can tell, but in San Francisco, trust me, it is safer for me to avoid them. Actually, it's safer for me to avoid everybody if I'm walking by myself in the city. Crazy homeless people, druggies, whatever. In my neighborhood, nobody makes me nervous. I'm respectful and say "hello." I think the "intimidating" people (white, black or other) appreciate the fact that I treat them like everybody else. I've never had bad experiences, but I've had a few scares at train stations and one ATM. No, I'm not racist, but I do discriminate against all types of people in certain situations. To put it in perspective, it's like going to a grocery store and choosing an apple - discrimination. And it's only a group of kids that make me turn away. Kids are crazier because they know the law isn't as harsh on them, even in murder cases.

Looking at my previous post, I definitely see how my lack of detail or depth of discussion makes me look bad. At least, I think it does. That's not the person I am.
