You shouln't talk about that online. PATRIOT Act and all. Under modern laws, you are now classified as a terrorist.

The patriot act doesn't mean fuck all outside Amerika... she could claim to be Canadian or something, I guess.

I wasnt aware that the patriot act mentioned this at all, Any training we do is to prepare to aid the national guard/department of homeland security in case of an emergancy.
If it was against the law these days than groups like the Colorado State Defense Force and the Michigan Militia would be illigal as well............

Don't you just love massive doses of jingoism, over-patriotism, and paranoia all blended into a highly combustible cocktail of self-collapsing destruction?
I know I do.

Isnt Jingoism and Over Patriotism the same thing ?
And anyways I balance my right wing friends/activities with a healthy dose of left wing friends/activities. It seems to keep me kinda sane I guess ^-^.

I'm pretty sure they are. It's just a matter of whether or not it's enforced. While some interpretations of the Constitution guarantee the right to bear arms in such a manner, the PATRIOT Act effectively gives the executive branch of the federal government the right to suspend Constitutional rights for any reason and at any time. The question is just whether or not they are willing to enforce the law yet. Many Americans still hold on to feeble notions of freedom and individuality in some base sense and would likely revolt in the face of blatant despotism.

The question isn't whether or not that they are enforcing it but do they need to? These guys may be in militia's but momentarily they have no business (for the most part anyways) in taking down a country that is currently right winged.
As for the right to bear arms, many people don't realize the whole purpose of this amendment. The amendment is to defend ourselves in case the government tries to take over. If the FBI comes a knockin' you can try and defend yourself, it's your constitutional right. In fact you can go and start shooting at government buildings claiming your protecting this amendment cause the government is trying to take over.
But then again it gets more detailed then that.

Yeah.....well. My favorite thing to carry is a simple butterfly knife. Its quick to use, flashy to the point of being intimidating, and when used properly it is deadly as the plague. As for the old axiom "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight," I simply avoid gunfights. :D Anyways. A properly used knife is just as deadly if not more so than a firearm in a close quarters(1-3 feet) encounter. The real secret to all fighting disciplines is knowing when to fight, when to run and when to avoid the situation altogether.

Butterflies are nifty, but they're not really my thing. I prefer fixed knives and medieval daggers over modern-day bowies.
I'm never without a set of three 7" blackened-steel throwing knives and a 10" sgian dubh (Scottish dagger) with a 6 1/2", slender and double-edged blade. Of course, that's just my thing...but I do concur with your theory of "avoid gunfights."
If all else fails, diffuse the situation, walk away, then turn around and hurl one right at the kneecaps. Stealth and surprise are a real bitch sometimes. That, and I'm just sadistic.

No...I don't think you carry any of that. That's pretty bulky and impractical. I doubt you can conceal that shit effectively, and if you can, the weight and unwieldiness of those weapons would offset any reason you might have conjured up for carrying them in the street.

I do carry it, as a matter of fact. The throwers have a custom sheath designed to have each one stack behind the other, so it only takes 1/3 the space, easily kept in one's pocket or on a belt under a shirt. The other knife is designed to be stashed in a boot. I'd put my skill with that against anyone else's skill with a butterfly for the simple fact that butterflies are better slashers, and mine's a stabber. All it takes is one quick jab, and it'll puncture any major organ or artery and provide ample time for escape. Puncture wounds are far more painful and deadly than lacerations, in my opinion. And I don't carry them especially for "street combat," I carry them for utility purposes more than anything. The dagger makes an especially nice toothpick.
If there was any real need for me to carry a defensive blade, I probably would look into a folder, butterfly, or similarly-constructed weapon, but insofar, it's never come up.
As for throwers having any effective combat reliability, I admit it's slim. Accuracy's down due to adrenaline and motion of the target. Those are best kept for showing off in relaxed environments or idle pitching. Which I love to do. :D
My weapon of choice is a claymore, the traditional Scottish-style, or a good spear. I'm a fan of two-handed weapons for the control and crushing force coupled with a razor edge. But that's not something you can really carry in the streets, whip out of nowhere in defense, or get away with slinging about.... :?

I love the legend behind mediaeval weapons. There's nothing like them. They're a hobby more than practical. There's a romantic edge to 'em.
As for this 'load' terminology, I'm assuming you mean the weapons and survival gear you bang together and take out sometimes? If not, please explain.

Was just referring to ones normal combat load when they go out and play soldier/keep ready by the door next to their bug out bag (didnt realize not many people did that hehe).
As for a carry weapon for day to day I have a kel-tec p-11 I generally carry (I love states with shall issue permit laws). And I allways cary OC/CS spray in my bag too
I know Im not quite skilled enough wif a knife and yea, being a girl Id rather just carry the gun and spray ^-^
Adrian_Faythe
23rd June 2005, 07:56 PM
Mm. Guns aren't my thing, personally. I stick to blades, because it takes a lot more skill and balls to kill someone up close and personal rather than take all the guesswork out of it and pull a trigger from a couple metres away, but I don't blame you. Spray's definitely fun. :D
I also agree with the point you made of it being more of a hobby. I visit Renaissance Faires all the time, so I suppose that's where my addiction for weaponry comes from.
But I'm also a sadistic bastard, so that gives me time to prolong the suffering and make it a hell of a lot more painful.

If I could carry a gun legally, I would. If you think Your state has cool laws, checkout New Mexico. You don't have to register your weapon, you don't have to have a permit to carry it in public(except when concealed), you are not liable for gun related accidents if children find your gun, and basically in so many words...gun owners have no limits place on them in New Mexico. In fact, I searched the state laws my self. The only mention of firearms is in instances of trying to carry aboard city buses.

I'm not sure sure, but that should be a matter of city law.
Anyway. All my guns were stolen not too long ago by, you guessed it, tweakers. I lost two cheap 12s, a Civil War era Hokken hex-barreled muzzle loader, 30-06 and 30-30 lever action Winchesters, 7mm mag Remington bolt action, two Marlin .22s, .357 mag Ruger double-action revolver, and some off brand .38. Fuckin tweakers.

My uncle's a knight. He's a champion. He goes to mediaeval jousts and gets suited up in full-on knight battle gear, and goes to mock-wars. They're pretty insane- you can literally get killed. They have maces and blunted swords and the full arsenal.
Ok, now that I know exactly what a load is, what is a tweaker?

Especially in terms of weapons. They probably figure "Ah, what the hell, why should we bust our asses when the ones who matter still have theirs?"
Man, if someone stole my entire fucking arsenal, I'd be pretty damn pissed. 'Specially with a nice collection like that...you've got my apologies, for what it's worth.

Nice!
I would use a reliable handgun perhaps a Luger or a Smith and Wesson, a Mosin Nagant 1938 rifle, a Mossberg 500 .410 and/or an AK 47. In a duffel bag with 100 9MM rounds, alot of .410s and 500 rounds of Mosin and AK ammunition.
In the event of any invasion 9MM ammunition would be easy to get and AK47s are the most likely guns to be used. Also Aks are reliable as are all the guns I would use.

And in terms of kit I would use a good quality hunting or perhaps utility knife, several bandanas, flares, several lighters, a military style folding shovel and some good quality rope...
