View Full Version : Nintendo DS Hacks

I got a nice crimson NDS for my flight to Europe a few months ago. As I'm about to disembark on another long-haul flight, I prepared my NDS. In the time between these two flights, I learned of various NDS hacks. I already knew about the free games (used them on the first flight, and since deleted), but I didn't know that the NDS could play movies and music, and be used as a text reader.
I uploaded a few songs that I own to the NDS, and they work perfectly. The texts work great too! Movies are a bit hit and miss. The Moon Shelf Project has free downloads, but the quality sucks. I tried encoding one of my home movies to the DPG format, but the sounds cuts off after a few seconds; although, the quality of the video is almost the same! I'll try again later, but that's my story.
With the 19-hour battery life, I'm glad I went with the NDS over the PSP.
Anyone have an NDS? or PSP?

Why do you have three DS's?
And I'll probably look into getting one when the price drops a bit.

Three for three quarters of the price of one over here from Thailand!
One standard one and two DS Lites...

Like the Wii, Nintendo has no reason to drop the price on the DS. Demand is still very high.

Can anyone reccomend me some good games/applications?
I just got the R4 card sorted, but I don't have much to put on it.

I told you on MSN that I'd get you that copy of 'Teh Forced Unleashed' so hang in there!
I put a lot of Comics on mine using a PDF to Image converter.

I downloaded a copy of that myself. But some idiot neglected to tell me that it was the japanese release. It works fine until I want to save it.
I'll put some reading material on there before I go oversees. Until then I'm not using up space on stuff that I'd be reading on the PC anyway.
What about good games other than The Force Unleashed?

I never got saves to work for more than one game. Pac-Man never saved though. You get what you pay for, I suppose. :wiggle:

I've had that with a couple of them that I've downloaded, but the majority of them work fine.
You can manually create a save file for games that don't come with one.
I've borrowed twenty one discs worth of games from someone, and will hopefully find some good ones in there. Geometry Wars:Galaxies is the only one I've been playing.
