I managed to get a summer job at a camp for under privileged kids aged 8-10. The camp is pirate themed

Any ideas on how i can make a pirate costume that wont cost me much and wont get destroyed by swimming/activities/the children themselves?

Also anyone know any pirate themed games we can do (outdoors) and any songs that you can make piratey eg. 10 big pirate ships sailing on the sea, if one of those pirate ships should go and sail away there'll be 9 big pirate ships sailing on the sea etc.

...And how in any way is this related to Scams and Crimes?

Unless you intend to steal the clothes that make up the costume?

A pair of swim shorts could be cut in zigzags at the bottom and then be re sewn to give you a cartoon piratey look. Maybe a red and white striped shirt and a vest over it. Raid your local value village/salvation army store and you should find all of it. Red and white spotted bandanna. Fuck yeah. I would guess you could do all that with under 10$.

When i read this i thought that someone was going to rob a store wearing a pirate costume.

its been done, 3 guys got away by dressing as pirates. They were pulled over twice after the robbery and both times they were let go after a 3 second search that showed that the van they used was filled with party supplies. The police let them go because nobody suspected a kiddy party car to be used in a robbery. I think they got away with about 6000$ US

have makeshift battles with mattresses as ships
fire off cannons,(air pump attached to trash bin, shoot soccer balls) search for buried treasure, do night raids on other cabins with torches and dressed up as pirates. (manufacture torches out of scrap motor oil you can get at gas stations with gasoline and newspaper, wrapped around a mob handle. Build a fort. childhood memories
