Feel free to PM me with any links or information..... or just post it here if you feel comfortable doing so.
I will try the Acetone Peroxide recipe and post results but am also interested in others such as possibly ETN ?
To be tested on C-1 so I have my doubts and believe only those who have optimised there detonator recipes will work.... so if that's the case, I'm sure we can work out some sort of trade for your own R&D time and effort. :)

Im no expert in detonators nor do i know much about explosives but my last job was an airport sceener so I was constantly being trained on what detonators looked like and the simplest one by far was a broken light bulb with the element wrapped in black powder & paper, the wires soldered onto the base. As soon as the ciruit was completed and the electricity went through the bulb, the element would turn glowing red and the black powder would be set off in turn setting off whatever explosive it was hidden in.
Like I said before, I really dont know that much about explosives so im not sure whether this would work on c4 or any of the advanced plastic explosives because I seem to remember talk about c4 being designed to be impervious to heat or something, so it would probably need a professional detonator to set off, asa far as c1 goes, I have no idea

You'd need both Black Powder and a Primary Explosive, such as Mercury Fulminate or Lead Azide.

A blasting cap is a small thin tube sealed at one end, normally by crushing the bottom closed by pliers or a vice or more professionally with some kind of sealent like epoxy, the tube is lined with some kind of spray plastic sealent, or more easy, a plastic drinking straw is cut to length and slipped in, this is to stop any kind of dodgey reaction between the explosive and the bare metal of the case, then(if your doing it properly)a base explosive is pressed in, then a small amount of primary explosive is pressed on top, then somthing like blackpowder or flash powder or H3 is sprinkeled on top then the igniter is glued in place, or fuse is crimped in place, alougth I wouldent advise crushing a ready loaded cap by trying to crimp it, just wrap some tape around it!
On another note if you have the bollocks a cap loaded with only primary explosives would be powerful enough to set off most explosives(except anfos of course)but are much more sensitive and dangerous to prepare.

My suggestion is a pretty simple one...
HMTD epoxied into a straw, lightly tamped/compressed in a blasting environment...
Stick a fuse in it before epoxying it...
It's easily detonated by heat, it WILL go off...
Middle of your secondary.

Here is a good method to make a blasting cap... Its the simplest method I use.
Get a drinking straw, cut it to 5cm long. Insert an ematch and seal with silicon so the head is inside the tube. Pout in 3mm lead styphinate or picrate. Tamp dowm well. Next tamp in 5mm of Lead Azide or Silver Azide (HMTD can work) carefully. Now press in 2cm MHN and a further 2cm PETN or RDX. Then press in a tissue circle. Now seal up with silicon.
This cap is PERFECT for setting off Urea Nitrate, improvised C-4, ANNM, Dynamite, etc. It aint as cool as my caseless ones though :)
