I wanna buy a knife. I've been looking at fixed knifes (as opposed to folding knives, i dunno if theyre actually called fixed knives) and I've found 2 that I like a lot, but I want rorta's opinions on them.
Option #1

Option #2

Or feel free to suggest knives to me that are much better. I'd like to keep it around 30 bucks though.

Id go with #1.Just cause they look almost the exact same to me and number 1 has a case.

I think that number one looks better, and the fact that it comes with a case is a plus. Although, it's your decision, don't let us decide for you.

Depends what you want it for.
Self defence, hunting, etc.

Yep, I agree. All this about a knife... Both knives look like killing knives, so I assume you're getting one to intimidate, yes?

i'd suggest saving up about 60$ and buying a kabar
in my area they are much more than that but everywhere but BC they area relatively cheap
Also if your going to be cutting yourself/minor surgery you'd need to get a sharpening kit with it. Look around your house for one first. I had one and didnt know about it untill months adfter i bought a 50$ one. The sharpening kit my dad has was worth about 120$ when he got it from his bro as a preasant. My uncle is a hunter so he knows his shit about knives and got a whicked deal on the block and accompanying bits.
I went through an emo phase and i know thats its uncomfortable as fuck to cut skin with a dull blade. also normal use dulls a blade way faster than you would ever think. Another note is that if your camping and theres a propane explosion, your going to want a sharp kinfe with which to cut the shrapenal from your ass with. I used a razorblade but a good, sharp hunting knife would have come in handy.

number 1 looks like its men more useful.plus theres a case.i would pick a curved blade for slashing over a straight blade anyday.but like everyone is say save up for a k-bar they last a long time.my dad has one from vietnam.well i think its a kbar based off style i only seen it twice.i prefer samurai tantos(not the ornate kind-the new age tactical kind) over all kinds of blades.

When you guys say kabar, which knife off of their site should i get?
https://www.kabar.com/product_detail.jsp?productNumber=1236&mode=category&categoryId=2,3,7&categoryName=Hunting/Sporting
This one looked pretty nice.
EDIT: would it be a bad idea to get that first knife for 20 bucks and just buy a ka bar at a later date? I don't want to spend all my money on a knife. Does that one from brassknuckles look like shitty quality?
EDIT2: this one is sick. I'm def getting this one.

Mm, don't be too hasty.
The ones from kabar look a bit shorter then the ones from brass knuckles.
But yeah, those two knives are pretty nice.
Try not to get caught with it.

Yeah, that would probably be pretty illegal. I need to ask a cop around here the knife laws cuz I cant find shit for ohio knife laws online. It's all so vague.

So Ka-bar has the short ones, which measure 5 1/4 inches, and the full size ones which are 7". Do you guys thing the extra 1 3/4" will make a difference?

I guessed so but i felt like providing useful info none the less. Having a knife that can cut flesh without needing to saw at it can be useful in many situations. Think about it.

Yeah, a sharp knife is definitely more useful than a butter knife.

depends on the pain you want to inflict... if you want them to feel a good deal of pain stab the hell out of them with a spoon :D
i'd go with the tanto from brass knucles, but that's just my personal cqc taste

I think the first tanto from brass knuckles looks the most intimidating, although the bowie knives would be more durable.
This probably isn't relevant anymore, I'd guess he's already bought the Bowie that he said he would.
@Acid44, nice avatar man! We don't have enough JTHM fans around here.

it depends on your style really, i use the curved blades for stabbing and straight edges for cutting/slashing
and JTHM is my bloody hero, honestly, is there anyone with better morals than johnny?

Ohio's knife laws are very vague and are lacking in detail. Its important to realize that each individual municipality or local government can enact more strict restrictions on knives.
? 2923.11. Definitions. As used in sections 2923.11 to 2923.24 of the Revised Code
(J) "Ballistic knife" means a knife with a detachable blade that is propelled by a spring-operated mechanism.
? 2923.12. Carrying concealed weapons.
(A) No person shall knowingly carry or have, concealed on his or her person or concealed ready at hand, any deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance.
? 2923.20. Unlawful transaction in weapons.
(A) No person shall:
(3) Manufacture, possess for sale, sell, or furnish to any person other than a law enforcement agency for authorized use in police work, any brass knuckles, cestus, billy, blackjack, sandbag, switchblade knife, springblade knife, gravity knife, or similar weapon;
1974 Committee Comment to H 511
An ordinary pocket knife that is not possessed, carried or used as a weapon is not a "deadly weapon" under RC ? 2923.11(A)
i havent been able to find any laws on legal length of knives in Ohio. but as long as its not a butterfly, switchblade, or springblade knife you should be good. also, ive seen alot of things where people said "ask a cop in your area what is legal" DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. in my experience with cops most of them aren't very knowledgeable on obscure laws. ask a lawyer to find out for you. or try your state solicitor. dont just ask a beat cop, he will almost certainly tell you that your knife is illegal. i know in SC that the law on knives is that if it folds, the blade needs to be under 3 inches. if it doesnt fold, it has to be in a sheath.

Ive always been a fan of the very ornate knives (such as ones with dragon heads at the end of the handle ect). Im guessing that these are more for show than use, but a 7 inch blade with a dragon on the end of the handle will still stab just as deep as a 7 inch blade that is plain. (assuming they are as sharp as one another..)
