OK, I finally got myself a DVD writer a few days ago and guess what... it won't fuckin' work.
After trying everything and anything I could think of, and swearing a lot, I've come to the conclusion that it is because I don't have high speed USB.
Somewhere in the manuals it says that if you don't have high speed USB then the DVD writer may not work, and burning CDs is slowed to 4x.
Is there any way around this, without buying a high speed USB card and going to all the effort of installing it? I havent taken a computer apart since I was in year 10/11 at school, and I don't think I'd still be able.
