potasium nitrate from fecal matter?

i watched an episode of modern marvels on poop. and they said it was put on walls dried out and turned into course pot nitrate. was this all an acid trip or will this actually work if i am gross enough to try it

if it works there are going to be a lot of things in there that you wont want/need. i would say its not worth your time, but i dont know what you do with your time, so if you do try it, make sure to let us know how it works.

how the hell do you know that? was it on tv cuz if it wasnt i would kind like to know.thats disturbing that you can make pot nitrate from poop even moreso that there is advanced methods to do so.

God... I must've read that in a 'General Chemistry' book in a library when I first got into Pyrotechnics...

I wouldn't however know how the Chinese discovered it in the first place.

Well I think I was in my school's library when I found a book with a rather comical front cover. Inside I learnt alot about Fulminates as well as general information I have and will apply to my chemistry in the future...

I'd advise that you read even the 'Kiddy-Chem' books if you can get your hands on them. If you can't find Pyro related books in your library either buy them from Amazon or download free Pyro eBooks and read everything you can.

how was it made in medevil time. i heard it was by puting poop on the wall and leaving it there til its white then it would be a coarse form of pot nitrate.
