Did someone lose their thesuarus? Personally, I'd say "alternative" sounds like a better word.

Maybe the hosts didn't like the idea of hosting a website dedicated to crime.

I liked Scams and Crime more.

Pick the bone with DIzzIE although personally I like it. Although nothing will ever replace the S&C section, which hopefull it will renamed to eventually.

If you don't like the name, ask people to propose other names, then start a poll with all of the names that have been suggested, and we'll change it to whatever is the most popular one (unless of course it's something ridiculous, and obviously not S&C for now).

I think the term UNDERGROUND ECONOMY or economics says it all without "stinging the eyes" of hosters, different minded people or people with high-moral-standards. And last but not least it really sound (quasi)-professional.

Terms such as "UNCONVENTIONAL BUSINESS (CONCEPTS)" or "ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES" are either too vague or arouse suspicion and mistrust.

But hey, its not my board, I was just thinking loud.:hitwithro

I'll split hairs... "Nonnormative" and "alternative" aren't interchangeable. Obviously, nonnormative means not based on the norm. Alternative is just a choice between at least two options, both of which could be normal.

"Alternative is just a choice between at least two options, both of which could be normal."

Yes but not normal is stiil an alternative to normal. :naughty:

Let the splitting hairs competition begin.

The difference is one is inclusive and the other is exclusive.

Why not change the name to "The Fluffy Bunnies and Tea Partys Board"

Who's going to complain about THAT?

An unacceptable bump: 'lolz, i concur!'

Almost word to word. I'm only editing the post because I can't think of anything else to contribute to the discussion and don't want to make a pointless post.

Maybe we should have a board for white colar crime, and one for scams and stuff. I think we should have much more specific board areas.

this a a fairly low traffic board, albeit one with an excellent signal to noise ratio. Splitting up the NE forum would probably just end up in a couple of dead fora.

It sucks.

If you want to suggest another name or input more constructive criticism please do so, as opposed to simply saying - "It sucks".

I like it, its a snazzier way of saying underground economics, aka the black market. Counterculture might work, but doesn't capture the spirit of "outlaw money-making" discussions.

"Unconventional Economics"

I like this, however I like it just the way it is right now. It is wrong, therefore unique. Therefore Rorta! Hail Rorta! :wtf1: Hahaha.

I thought it was alright too.

You are saying Rorta is wrong. :bryce:

Hahaha, I'm simply saying wrongness is uniquness. It is our flaws that define us.

FAZEone

Well I wouldn't want to be defined by my flaws. In fact, who would?
We can be unique without showing flaws. Superiority = no flaws.

You don't get a choice in it.

Furthermore, we're defined by all of our attributes, not just our flaws and superiority is not having no flaws.

Such competition, such hatred, this shows insecurity. Take it easy it was just a phrase, a quote from someone whose name escapes me. I realize we are defined by many things. I just think that when it comes down to the nitty gritty, the fundementals that we are defined by as individuals are the the things that we don't share with anybody else. Usually these things are viewed as unattractive qualities, therefore known as flaws. Thusly, it is our flaws that define us.

:paranoid:

Please keep in mind, I want no competition from anyone, only peace. No war please, it is not necessary.
