ok, first question is...

i just installed need for speed carbon and pro street on my comp, they boh require 256MB graphics, 512MB RAM, an i think a 2.4 GHZ pentium

i've got 256 gfx card... which also takes another 256MB if needed from the system... fucked if i know how that works... mid explaining? ( but it's onboard, which im assuming is the problem),756MB RAM (sad i know :( ...) and a 3.0GHZ P4 HT (hyperthreading)... i'm on windows XP Professional/home (semi dual boot... if need be i'll explain that)

also, i just ordered a 256MB nvidia card off of ebay, i hope that helps :S

anyways... when the load they both show a black screen and then crash to desktop with the error reporting window poppin up... any ideas?

second question is...

does anyone know of a good (prefferably logitech) racing wheel/pedal/shifter set for UNDER 75$ canadian, not on ebay though cause i don't exactly plan on paying for it... don't even ask about my plans on that one... i just wing it XD

It's your video card, and/or RAM.

do yo uthink the nvidia 256 card could run em? like... would it be the VRAM or just the fact that onboard cards are shit?

The latter. From personal experience you are best having on board graphics with double what is recommended by the developers of the game you wish to play.

really? double? damn... any particular reason why onboard is so shit?

I was once told by a former associate who ran a LAN Cafe that it's to do with the processor. That may of course be BS, and I'm sure someone here can confirm if there is any truth in it.

hmm... makes sense, onboard ram would be running off of your PCs processor so it wouldnt have the same speed...

Onboard Video is indeed crap, because it shares ram. Meaning if you have 756MB RAM and your GFX-card is 265MB and can take another 265MB from your ram you've only 512MB left and that might be to little. :sad2:
Also some games don't run if you're using a onboard GFX-card, so it was a good idea you bought a new non-onboard one.

BTW maybe a patch will fix the problem.
