Before i start, this happend a year and some months ago but im fine now. Now here's what happend, it started with abunch of phone messages stating payments are due. Then about a week later i get these letters saying i owe thousands of dollars. But heres my question, the letters used a false name not even my own name which is on my credit card. So how is it hes cashing out my credit without even using my own name?
Also for the people who actually do this, I've called my local police and they WONT DO SHIT, period. So i solved it myself canceled my creditcard. But im still getting letters for payments under the false name to this day in fact.

Check if the account number is the same as your CC-company, maybe someone sends you these letters hoping you pay thinking you pay the CC-company while the account number is actually his. It might be a scam of some sort. Good luck anyway and don't pay shit unless you have verified with your CC-company that you indeed owe them, look for their phone number on their website.

Assuming it isn't a scam... Well, if the bills aren't in your name don't worry about it. You should report it to your credit bureaus (three of them in the US). Try talking to a federal agency or your bank if you want to catch the guy.

If he's using the same name then it sounds like maybe he's ordering secondary cards(like you would for your wife or kid to use) and since it is the same name, it could even be his real name. Hell, I cashed over $40,000 in "washed" checks using my real id when everyone I could find to cash them for me had already been busted-but I guess when you've already got warrants and a $1500 a day coke habit to feed you really don't give a f*ck! Funny thing is, only a handful of the checks ever came back to bite me in the a$$. or maybe they just got tired of throwing felonies at me. Anyway, it might be worth looking into!
