View Full Version : Will Obama Keep his Word?

Well there are plenty of youtube videos and articles back from when Obama was still on the election trail. He spoke out that he feels our prison systems are being filled up with non-violent offenders, and something should be done about it. 18 and 19 year olds are being put in jail for years for non violent offenses, and by the time they get out, no one will hire them so they just turn back to the same crimes they had committed in the first place. One of the policies was that he would decriminalize non-violent crimes or at least marijuana.
Now will he keep his word, or have nearly all the younger voters been suckered into voting for him because of his bullshit?
I think its basically a coin toss. The war on drugs is an utter failure, but no president has had the balls to do something about it.
Also, anyone making under 200k dollars a year supposedly would "not see their taxes increase"
Im guessing he will go back on this within the first month that he is in office (if he hasnt already changed his tax policies)

I predict that Obama is going to piss off multiple demographs within the first year of office he holds.

It will most certainly be interesting whatever it is that happens with Obama. I hope for the best, its seemed to me that U.S. Gov needed a giant enima a long time ago and it Obama might be talking out of his ass but he's the only president I've seen so far that has openly had what seemed like neo radicle ideas...so this slightly excites me.
His balls must be pretty large to want to spend as much money as he's wanting to.
I do worry that with some of his ideas he might be stepping on some of the wrong toes of other powerful people behind the scenes.:ouch:
Regardless of what happens, I'm still excited about the change.
on a side note: I like to think 2012 as a new beginning, rather than the end. Maybe its supposed to just signify a period of great change for mankind...

No, because Gore never made it into office.

Barrack "Mr. Doom and Gloom" Obama is the one that got suckered, putting in everyone from the Clinton era in power. And people think Cheney had Bush's ear... Ha!
Anyway, there's a lot Obama wants to get done, but I doubt any of it will happen. As for the war on drugs, I think it's better that we have it rather than not.

Now thats what i wanna see, a polly stamping on toes of the powerful. They all pussy foot around influential people and treat them like royalty!
What i hate most is when a new party is elected into office and the old party jumps all over the new party about laws and "reforms" that the old party put in place themselves. Damn the new aust prime minister had just been in office for 2 weeks and the old ones were jumping on him about a 50cents a litre fuel levy tax that the OLD party put in place themselves.
Gough Whitlam is a perfect example of pollys who just want power and not what the peolpe want, i feel he could have really changed this country for the best but no john kerr(more like wayne kerr) who had to be in malcom fraser's pocket dismissed gough as prime minister because he proposed to borow money from banks to keep his govt running because frasers party who controlled the senate wouldn't pass his Supply(money) bill.
I find that absolutely infuriating!!
FUCKING CONTRADICTIVE HYPOCRITES
I have to stop here i could go on but i would just work myself into a frenzy on why all pollys should be strung from a tree by their nuts.
VX i think you know what im on about.

You'd be right to think that. Luckily, the Liberals' recent stupidity has been blatant enough for everyone to see, and after Little Johnny, I don't think that they'll get voted in again anytime soon.

I think that he's doing pretty well. It's a step up from Howard at least.
I think it's the same with American politics, think about the plus side. Anyone is going to be better than Bush, so stop complaining.

Remains to be seen... Besides, we've had many examples. Carter is the forerunner.
