Competition Bodybuilding A Joke?

:hmmm: What the title implies. It seems to me that the sport of competition bodybuilding is mostly complete hypocrisy. Not all of it, but most of it. Its a bunch of people displaying their physiques that are supposed to be icons of human health, which in reality the opposite is true. They are usually melting on the inside from all the drug abuse they put their bodies through. Sure their muscles look nice, buts that it! Talk long enough with any competition bodybuilder(not that hard to do, they love to talk about themselves usually :yup:) and they'll mention how they are their weakest while up on stage. I know and realize why, its simply because they have spent the past 4-6 weeks depleting their body of essential nutrients to better show off their muscles for their sport. <--This is not health!

I don't deny it as a sport, but anything based on lies and false fallacies is weak to begin with and will die weak.

Just felt like ranting I suppose. Thoughts, opinions, dirty remarks?

In-a-nutshell, most competition bodybuilders (WAY TOO MANY TO TAKE SERIOUSLY) are idiots.

Yep, a lot of professional bodybuilders come across as complete idiots. It's easy to understand though, they lack people skills, they spend hours looking at themselves in mirrors admiring their physiques. They have huge egos though because of it, which could be useful for some things I'm sure...:bs2:

I don't discredit their dedication too much. It's more from what their dedication stems from that upsets me. Their dedication exist almost purely because they like the way they look. Vain I think you call it.:saevilw:

On the topic of Phelps, that was beyond idiocy. That's just... sad. He knew he was a nationally recognized figure, and yet, he went to a frat party where people had cameras. Fucking cameras. What a fool.

He's the greatest swimmer that has ever lived and probably ever will live. He's broken more records and has more gold medals than anyone could ever hope for. Fuck the media, fuck you haters, and fuck his career. After all that he has accomplished, I think the guy deserves a fucking hit if that's what he wants. The thing that pisses me of is the peons that sit back and judge a godlike figure such as himself. If he can smoke weed and crush everyone's dreams in the water then maybe its not the weed that's so bad. Maybe's it's all the judgmental dumbfucks on their moral high horses causing the problem. Michael Phelps is living proof that "successful" people can use drugs without butchering their friends or something. I think that hopefully that photo opened a lot of people's eyes to the truth about cannabis.
