Perhaps a member be appointed (as I know Stone & DD are busy characters) as a skin creator to fiddle on with the sites skins? I'm pretty bored of the current two we have. How about a darker feeling skin? Just a thought.

Same here mate, I don't have a pot of glue on where to start with making skins and whatnot but I have a few simple ideas. The current skin I'm using now I'd like to see the blue tints swopped with a black and dark grey tint.

I've never run a vbbs board but if they are anything like smf or phpbb (which I'm assuming they must be because all 3 are php scripts), many skins are available to download already , if you were to write one I (think) you would be looking to "write" CSS files but this is just what I've heard, when I ran a board there were so many skins that it wasn't worth trying to learn the shit, to me at least.

A suggestion (shit there might be a default one in there, don't feel like checking) would be add a skin/theme changer so people can change their skins to whatever they like. This is alot better than everyone wanting to vote on their favorite skins, every can have their "own" skins.

edit: lol I'm a moron, I just looked at say a dialog box on the very bottom left of the page, it's the theme changer. Admin just needs to grab a pack of themes. Sounds easy until users start seeing themes they want and everyone is like "hey just put this one up for me" hahaha but none-the-less the first step looks simple. Shit I just reread the thread, fucking first posts indicates this!

If Rorta is going to change skins change the skins to a design that is unique to us.

We don't want to look like X number of boards out there.

Exactly. Unless I'm missing something the logic would go something like this:

a 2 default skins - looks like *every* site
b downloaded skins - looks like less sites
c custom written skins - looks completely unique (though there are only so many colors and patterns so this isn't entirely true)


I think all can agree c) is the best b) is second best and a) least. Would it make sense to do step b) until c) is completed?

I could give a shit either way, I'm not a big fan of skins, I don't think I've ever changed skins from default when I hit forums.
