I'm looking for a pair of fake reading glasses, and on the subject, it turns out realistic disguises (wigs, facial hair, skin colour) isn't something you can pick up at your local department store.

There's the option of buying the sample frames from an optometrist, which come with clear plastic/glass, but that would arouse curiosity. Otherwise the lenses could be popped out of a pair of square sunglasses, but that rules out face-to-face contact. If all else fails, some joke stores have some crappy replicas. Which would be the best option?

I was reading something on Dyslexia recently which said that Dyslexics who read with glasses which have a non-presciption lens read much better. It apparently reduces the whole sense of words moving around. If you go to an Optician and ask to buy some for that particular reason it may not arouse suspicion. Just a thought.

This might help for the glasses although a lot look like girls frames

And maybe this for the wigs.

But really if you just use google you can find stores in your area.

I'd advise you to find a theatrical cosmetics store in your area. You can get good quality glasses there with "Zeros" (lenses with no ocular power). I went to a store and the assistant was so helpful. I was there over an hour and spent hundreds of dollars. A good disguise is essential when you don't know how many cameras are on you, you can get stuff for your hair and skin to make you look older, wigs and facial hair (be prepared to spend a lot on good quality ones) If you have tattoos you can get make-up to cover them (this saved SWIM's ass on a major scale once).

Read Thor's criminal rules, if you can provide a rock solid alibi as well as being able to say 'The person on the video footage looks nothing like me' then those 2 things should be a able to provide reasonable doubt to a jury, which should see you right if you're ever in that situation.

Hit the fleamarket, they sell them for 5-10 bucks. We call them clear frames here, there is a market - not only black but alot of blacks buy them for the look of glasses.

Like the black guy I overheard at walmart talking to his friend about how he owns a construction company and is always hiring "comprentaces". Then he went on to explain what a comprentace was.
