I just read a news story about some counterfiet 100 dollar canadian bills circulating around. These are based on the new ones with the metallic stripe. How do you guys think it is possible to create this stripe? I thought it was impossible to counterfeit the new ones due to that stripe.
ps im not involved in anything to do with counterfeiting, im just curious about it.

Im also interested in the topic. The strip can be made using a hologram printer. I have seen them for 12,000$ CAD but they may get cheaper.
To elaborate on the strip, its a solid, wave-line that is vertically off to the left side of the bill about 7mm from the left.
It has a vertical stack of the bill's value and a backround of line after line of the bill's value in the same font but smaller. I dont have one in front of me right now but I can write more later.

If that's the case then counterfeiters should look to making fake american bills instead unless there willing to become pros and do this stuff for a living which will take a lot of money and time.

This is the canadian money. Its kinda gay looking but its a lot better looking than American bills. My eyesight is bad so I have to hold the money up to the light to see what value it is. Colorcoding fixes that problem. Make note that the symbol at the bottom. This is raised above the hologram. It can be made with a progression of stencils.

I don't remember anything about the metallic stripes that is working. The printers used to print them are very expensive and virtually impossible to find second-hand. Buying them the the roll is very risky and lowers your per-unit profit a lot if your making enough to warrant buying the machine.

Sorry keep forgetting your in canada. Money is completely differnt! my thread is on making us $100 bills with strips and watermarks. just posted it:shocked:
It uses a process to raise notes to higher denominations. making them from scratch would require alot of expertise in paper manufacturing. I have seen mico thin sheets bonded together with the strip in the center. printing holos is very costly. Sometimes holos can be fakled with a alps printer and pearlex paint additive added for irridescence

These cant be faked without the real equiptment. They would need a printer than can do fading, raised font and solid reflective. That cant be done with pearlex or anything like it.

Do you have a link of anywhere that has a overview of the security instruments implimented in canadian currency? Have you seen the new iraq dinar? They have a lot of shit implimented in them even the woven metal holo thread in the paper. Also the new vietnam dong are poly instead of paper. Your money looks farther advanced than ours

Very simple security measures. the only thats very hard to fake is the holo. The rest is just there to assert the size of Canada's penis.
