I just played FIFA on a PSP and WOW! Fucking hell, the machine is fucking class! Need For Speed is even more amazing, the graphics are near PS2 quality and the game runs so smooth. The controls are perfect, even the little analog controller is easy to use.

10/10

I bought a PSP a few weeks ago, I am very impressed with the graphics and everything else as well. I have "Coded Arms" for it and a 512MB memory stick and a bunch of music on there.

Makes me sad to see Nintendo moving off of GBA to see Super Nintendo type graphics be in the past. :(

I first thought PSP was PS1 graphics, but I'm really impressed.

The PSP is pretty close to PS2 graphics, and they'll only get better. The UMD is pretty cool aswell.

Yeah it is amazing they can fit all that data on a little disk like that...It reminds me of the Game Cube disks, but better because they are in that little thing and can't get ruined, now that was a great idea.

I'll admit, the PSP is very impressive. I just won't buy one at the moment because I find that the PSP and the GOOD memory cards for it are just far too overpriced.

But don't get me wrong. If I had the kind of money where I could buy it and it would be no big blow to my wallet, I would pick it up in a second.

the PSP is awesome, my friend got one from japan like 6 months ago, but I'd have to sell my balls on the black market to get everything you need for it. The new Grand Theft Auto coming out looks like it will own. There are no really good games now anyway, except maybe Dead To Rights II (although on the console its worthless) and a few racing/sports games. Fifa does indeed rock though.

Coded Arms is pretty good. Anyone know anything about the new GTA coming out for PSP? I haven't heard or seen much..

Do you know that it's a toy made by a greedy capatalist billion $$$ corporation? Shame on you complementing it. You should want to destroy them all!

On track though, it's a pity that the PSP isn't released here for another month, the one my boss got was from Hong Kong.

He shoots...he scores!!

In other news I also tried out a PSP and although I felt like a capatilist pig, I quite enjoyed the experience. The screen is large enough to enjoy a game of Wipeout however I'd be cautious as to buying it simply on it's media capabilities. Although I think the open source emulators are a grand idea.

Unfortunately as super rich as I am I just can't afford to fork out $400 for a toy I would only play every now and then.

How does it compare to the Gameboy DS?

I havn't seen any API's for the PSP even though I've seen
programs. Those Dev's must of had friends in high places.

I'm sure there is DX9 and OpenGL support.

What a waste of money. Even have to buy DVDS you already have for compatability.

Well it isn't a portable DVD player... not exactly.

OF COURSE you have to buy new disks! The games are small, but it should be able to take full size DVDs? If that was the case, why make PSP games at all when they could just make more PS2 games to work in it.

For any PSP owners check out www.psp-hacks.com, there is alot of stuff on that site, putting emulators on your PSP etc. It's great. Just as long as you haven't updated your firmware since 1.50.. They are working on a hack for 2.0 though so don't fear.
