Ummm.... we won?! I... guess...

My thoughts on this are much better summarized by the infallible Juan Cole:

I take it this is because they have finally realized that if they are fighting a war on terror, the enemy is four guys in a gymn in Leeds. It isn't going to take very long for people to realize that a) you don't actually need to pay the Pentagon $400 billion a year if that is the problem and b) whoever is in charge of such a war isn't actually doing a very good job at stopping the bombs from going off.

Over or not aren't there still soldiers over there regardless?
I sincerely doubt this shits done with, I've not been keeping excellent tabs on what's been goin on, but it just doesn't seem like we've milked what we can from it yet.

Very much intentional bump...I find it interesting to see past posts combined with an event that is still taking place...5th year into the iraqi war, and...where's the end? did we not declare victory? why are we still there? should we be there? one of the reasons I bring this up is I believe this board is at least represented by four different countries...

perhaps some...potential solutions other than the obvious "just get the fuck out now," could be interesting...or perhaps I am beating a dead horse.

was my thought, but...this forum is dead. this forum used to be quite decent....even talking about mundane topics can be useful in a revival.

The war on terror will never die unless we live without a governing body. Since the begining of the civilized world there has been terrorism and a terrorist threat. and since that there has been a war on terror. Call it what you like. It has always been there. Since the WTC attacks its just been branded the "war on terror".
