This is all hypothetical:
If someone wanted to run a nightclub out of a house/apartment, how would it be done and would it make money and provide a good time?

Pick a place that can evade traffic from police and nosey neighbors. House would obviously have advantages over an apartment.
If it is a house, try to get one with a basement as to dampen the obvious party happening, noone can peek through your windows or anything. Be sure that the basement has it's own entryway, or you have a way of getting people to it without them fucking with your shit if this house is also the place you live.
You can get a system to fill a basement with sound for a couple hundred bucks. If you charge people $10 to get in, which to me seems fair because obviously you run the show and wont have any bouncers or assholes looking for people dropping X and the like. 30 people, you've paid for the system and probably some lighting.
Get a friend to run a small bar. Spend enough so you have enough booze to make a good variety of drinks and maybe water them down a little to make some extra cash.

You would need a decent sized venue. It cant have too many nooks and crannies for people to hide in.This will give them the idea that its a place to "crash" when it SHOULD NOT BE. If you foster that mentality, your going to get a lot of street kids and meth heads who use your place as a hostel and only pay the cover charge and not buy drinks.
Have (lightly) armed guards. One or two floor guards and someone like the owner or manager in the back who can come out with more firepower if need be. By 'fire power' I don't necessarily mean a firearm. A baseball bat or machete have a high intimidation value. Avoid fire arms for the obvious reasons. Try to get to know whose turf your working in, make some friends, if you would like some guaranteed business, Make your place a hangout for the gang whose territory your venue is in. This isn't the best idea for safety, but its good for profit and social motives if you are into the crowd.
Having reasonably prices drinks is a very big bonus. knocking 30-45%off the price of the driinks on average will attract the more sedentary drunks. It also attracts the more rowdy people. If you make your guards well known as being rough with people who dont stay in line, you will do well.
Charge 'rent' to anyone who wants to deal in your venue. Only allow them to deal in a maximum of a certain amount. No more than three dealers, never have competition within a venue for dealing. This will cause them to bother your patrons and 'push' their narcotics. You want the dealers to be able to sit back, sip a beer and have patrons wander up and ask for small amounts of narcotics. If you catch someone with something like GHB, get your guards to fuck them up, police will automatically triple their effort to bust you if said substances are present.
Uhhhmmm... I am having trouble thinking of anything more. I will add more later

watch out for the mob.
Haha. You're under the impression the mob own every nightclub around. Yeah right... :saroll:
The place you'd be opening wouldn't be rivalling any club, since my theory is it'd attract a lot of people.
Cheap alcohol, low noise output combined with a strict dress code would equal success. You'd want the venue located near the city centre, but not too near and out of the usual area that Pork hang around. You'd also want the venue to look good and one thing you won't want is neighbours.
If you can pull off all of those variables then that's a start. I for one think it's a relatively difficult prospect.

it all depends on what your aiming for
If you want a quiet chillout like a biker clubhouse, then it doesnt matter much where the place is. If you want a hustle and bustle party house, you have it near the downtown area but not directly downtown

How would the noise be kept low?
Also, there is the problem of lots of cars/people coming in and out.
What do you guys think would help solve these problems?

As previously stated, a basement would be ideal. You can also insulate a room, but this is a pain if it's just a regular house and probably not worth the effort.
Maybe find a place where noise wouldn't be such an issue instead of finding ways to dampen the noise. i.e. college towns where loud houses are to be expected, then it looks like you are just throwing a house party maybe?
As far as cars coming and going, you could let clubgoers work it out themselves, just telling people there is no parking, or finding a spot nearby where people could park and walk to your place, i.e. a department store lot or something like that.
Honestly though, there are too many things that could go wrong and get fucked up...I suggest you find other means of making money, if that is the ultimate goal of this operation.

I have a friend who runs his own poker venue with bar - a real relief from the public scene. Problem with getting too public is the cops will follow the crowd and bust you for not having a liquor license. Keep it smallish and along the lines of a speak-easy, I think you'll be fine. Since you would most likely not be paying any sort of taxes or the usual business overhead you should make money without having huge crowds. Think of it as a throwing a party with a cover charge and cash bar. Being able to change addresses every so often would also have some benefit, just to keep those pesky cops from catching on you are running an illicit club.

lol toronto? Thats in canada dude
theres very little violent organized crime outside of quebec, NS and the GVRD. In toronto, the organized criminal groups dont have the money to run nightclubs for any amount of time. The hells angels have nightclubs, but they arent competitive although they are all across canada and fairly violent.
I say fairly violent because the Canadian hells angels only ever use violence as a last resort. They are the group I respect most of all of the criminal groups.

lol bro you've been miss informed. first of all the most serious bikers are in quebec. there complete fuck ups in ontario. and if you dont believe me check the toronto sun from the time they left 8 bandito bikers in a field/back of cars and got booked to the strip club shootings which several ppl were sent to jail. and you why cus there so open. if a 16 year old kid in BC knows all about their shit, there obviously kinda fucked.
trust me the mob is quite a presence in ontario esp hamilton and woodbridge, but over time they have made that adjustment to legal business i.e. contracts and yes night clubs. and this is just the italians/greeks we are talking about.
and you can disagree but this is truth. and i dont wanna argue but if u respect the bikers for their 'lack of senseless violence and their smarts' then im sorry i dont think you know what your talking about.
and further research about the toronto mob, google Louise Russo if you thurst for true knowledge.
