Well, I was requested to post this scam in this particular forum. So here you go, for your greedy enjoyment.

I've come up with new scam. I'm pretyt sure it's new, or at least it's new to these boards.
Now I've done this all legitimently, but I think it could work out to others favor.
The first thing you need to do is gain a non-profit status 501(c)3.
What you need to do is make an independant film script or some type of media that that would qualify for this.
Very first thing to do is find a sponsor. But to begin with I'll tell WHAT a fiscal sponsor is. Basicly, if you're making a flim you can either go through the IRS(very costly, and time consuming) to gain the 501c3 not for profit status, or go though a fiscal sponsor. This fiscal sponsor will give you the 501c3 status so you can recive grants, and large donations. Your donators will want you to have this status, so they will recive a tax refund on their donation. These donations will be written out to your sponsor and then they will pass the money, or tangible donations on to you. They catch is they retain around 5-10 percent of the grants or donations. This isn't at all bad, expecially if your doing it as a scam, but even if you are going to do it legit style. So we've now got the annoying ass information down, lets get movign.
Each sponsor will want you to supply at least a discription of your project and a budget. The discription write up is simple and straight forward, the budget may be where you struggle. Basicly you should include "travel expenses, Computer media station, money for other equipment e.g. camera lighting banks props and that. So you can make it where it comes out to around 100,000 dollars. (Cameras are around 3,000, media station with hardware/software should also be around 3,000.... And then your salery for people involved shuch as yoru film editor should get a few grand.) so you can see how it could add up quickly. Also you can apply for grants, which could be quite heafty if your project is big enough. Make sure your Title, and movie descritions are really sappy and documentary style. Mine was fictional, and it was hard as hell to get grants and shit.
What you do is write in to busniess or compnays (not microsoft or something massivly huge), somewhat locally or small that could donate a computer or cameras if you write convincingly. You can ask for donations from pretty much anybody really, and always make sure to mention you're not or profit and that they WILL get a tax deduction for most, if not all of what they donated. Basicly, just ask for cash donations, or hardware/software donations from places that have that stuff and/or sympathise with the film arts.
Just a reminder, make sure you make a sappy ass film descrition, and the safest way would to be to produce a small film. Maybe even like a 10 miniute one. Becaus they will ask you for progress reports and reciepts on what you spent it for. THe way to take care of the recipts is to buy the movie related shit, and then turn around and sell it.
So this is a lot of hassel sure, but there isn't a great deal of risk, and there is NONE if you actually come up with a 5-10 miniute film. Even if it looks like total shit, just tell them things went wrong and your editor decided to fuck you over cause you didn't pay him enough.
Now I'm not sure if I wrote this clearly enough for you to understand, but if you ask me I can reinterate and clarify certain parts for you. This isn't entirely easy, but the return could be huge if you tackle it the right way.
I've done this legit and had a good hour film that was well recived. I'm just saying that it is possible for this system to be taken advantage of and exploited. Have fun, and remember, I'm not responsible for your actions. I merely posted a theory, and left the decision in your hands.
