Admins, I don't know your complete vision of Rorta, but...

With all the people coming and going, even posters, I think it's time to revamp! :sombrero: I don't know what the other boards are like, such as bombshock, in regards to membership and frequency, but I think we can do better.

There are a lot of good ideas out there, but no one writes tutorials. I see a lack of focus from members. I think we should have a new look, which I thought was coming, divide modship by specialty, and require mods to come up with new topics should their part of the forum slowdown. I think we should have stricter rules in regards to flame and topics that veer off-course, like deleting and editing. Then, we should have, along with the Admins, maybe one or two supermods.

I suppose this is a place of ideas, but a lot of them are hair-brained, without research or much thought. I think the kind of output this board needs can be encourage, just a question of how, which I'll leave to you.

Maybe all these ideas are things you don't want, but I really wish we had a new look.

I would certainly like to do my part, but I don't have the time right now, maybe further into summer.

I Agree with you on this, the problem I see is that alot of things people could write tutorials on have already been posted with out enough information.

I was going to post a whole thing on the bar code scam but felt like i shouldnt because theres already a thread about it from like 2 years ago. The only thing is this thread just gives you the basics and is missing alot of information. I don't want to bring up a thread from that along ago and try to add a tutorial just for people to respond with comments like "wow this thread is old" or "little bit late with posting".

I also think we should have a couple people who post new stuff in the general topic daily. If we have a couple people who post new threads in the general forum i think people would be less hesitant to post new thread themselves. We have a lot of members on this site but only a small community of posters. I think a lot of the members are shy and feel that even though they joined the site should rather just lurk then actually participate in topics. If we had more content with more people posting it would be easier for them to post. I mean most of the forums have stuff dating back 2 months with no new topics.

to me the banner makes it too... something... too much like something some mainstream site full of idiots would have... no offence... it's really the "info is strength" text and fist holding barbed wire...

I think that's a brilliant new banner, personally the layout we have now is fine but its old and i think this new look would help attract members.

Not really. A new copy of vB and a skin brought a ton of new members in. It was most unfortunate that a large portion of which aren't exactly bright cookies; putting it lightly.

What you saw in the cap might look complete, but there's still a lot to be done. I'm working on it whenever I can. It's been a few weeks now but I should hopefully be back on it soon.
