Well, obviously the latest news at the moment is that RORTA IS BACK ONLINE!
Yes, we are back with a new site and a new forum. At the moment we're workin' with phpBB but hope to be upgraded to vBulletin as soon as possible. if anyone wants to donate towards a vB my paypal e-mail address is doctad@btinternet.com and any donations, no matter how big or small, are very greatly appreciated.
So, old members and new alike, welcome to Rorta.net

This is a nice looking site, you did a nice job on it. Sorry i can't donate i'm pretty broke right now and getting a paypal account when you're 16 is pretty tough.

Getting a paypal account is easy, no matter what age you are... using it to send money may be the tough bit!
Thanks for the compliments, but there is a lot of work to be done. Myself or Stone will keep you up to date on whats happening and when.

there are other ways to donate, if you are a good artist you can draw some stuff for the site, if you are a good writer you can write, etc...there is something everyone can do for the site, just think of what it could be. DD, what are some things we can be doing for the site?

I can write some text files too. Mostly on explosives and that sort of thing...I'll get to work on some and send them to you.

Do anything at all you think would be worth of appearing on the site and send it to me at doctad@rorta.net
Don't be offended if you submit something and it's not used... it will be stored along with everything else that is submitted and probably/possibly used in the future.
(Im so fuckin' wasted... it took me a LONG time to fix this post)

DD, I am going to try to donate some money, but I probably won't be able to, 'cause, as MB said, using PayPal is difficult at a young age. :(
I love you, though. And Stone. The site looks bitchin. <3

i've just woken up. I took a warm shower, iv'e got a cd to burn. my sister just went to Wendys to get some jr bacon cheesburgers. hey DD, what would it take for an ordinary member to snag one of those @rorta.net email addys? just a thought.
about the sending material to be used on the site, do you mean logos and photoshopped stuff or just any of our nice art we think would be appropriate?
oh and what do you think about adding a few pages to the site, maybe a member art gallery. i was going to make a topic about it but i'll just ask here, do you think it's a good idea?

About the rorta.net e-mail addresses, we'll see... Im not promising anything, and it may just be available to staff.
Just anything, really... if ya think it could be used somewhere, feel free to submit it.

The only money I need at the moment is for a vBulletin, but as far as I know thats sorted now.
Rorta has never been about money, and never will be. We wont have pop-ups or banner ads (unless they're worthy banner ads) and we'll never ask you for money unless necessary... so thanks everyone for the good intentions but save up and buy yourself faster internet so you cam spend more time at RORTA.NET :D

You should make a ezine that goes out via E-Mail.It would be cool
if you used a PHP Supported Encryption to encrypt the Body of the
Email and have the Key be the persons Forum ID.Like mine on the
A0tu phpBB is 33.That number cant be used Maliciously.
Why do you want V Bullitin?
DoctaD
10th May 2005, 10:46 AM
We want vB as we're used to it from the .com and it's so much easier to use, especially from the administration's POV.

E-zine is a very good possibilty, but our concentration is on getting the whole site up and running first.
As for $$$ and ad's. There is no need for it, we have about 240GB of bandwidth a month for the next 3 years, that should be enough...
