It's been big news here.
Although there are several things.
In order to sell the goods they're going to have to reduce the value of what they stole by up to ten times by cutting down and modifying what they stole.
They also used Latex faces. (Yes, Very Mission Impossible.) After the robbery was announced people were stumped about why they decided to show their faces whilst doing the robbery. I guess we know why.
Success through deceit.
(I know the article mentions it, just sayin'.)
We could always have a competition... Who could come up with the best alternate robbery ideas.

They will need too cut them for sure. They have tiny markings on them... depending on the size they will loose anything from half to 1 carat per diamond.

So they spend hours in a make-up artists studio, then 1 hour later hit a jewelers... did they hope the make up artist wouldn't recognise his work?

I honestly think that'll be the death (Or incarceration at any rate.) of them.
They walked into a Covent Garden (Tons of CCTV.) store and walked out with a new ID.
If they're familiar to the Pork they'll be got in no time.

they planned the heist and planned exactly what they stole. I heard that they only took two or three little display cases. they probably will sell to private buyers for 1/3 of the value. I would guess not for wear.
Basically, they know their shit. They know their shit so well that the police will probably end up arresting a dozen people, all with evidence tying them to the crime scene and crime and not even have the real perpetrators on their radar.

An interesting development.

That seems very amateurish.
I would have thought they would have been part of some kind of crime syndicate. They would probably have left the country within an hour of the robbery on a private jet.

The pair hired an unsuspecting professional make-up artist who thought he was transforming them for a pop video.
Surprised they took no action to detain or threaten into silence the makeup artist. The must have been thinking he/she would never connect the robbery with their handiwork - that's what you call a big loose end and probably the weakest part of their plan. They could have taken the trouble to learn to do their own "Hollywood" style latex appliances and makeup.

Well several men are in court on the charges and several others are being hunted down by the Pork.
