I assume most of you are like myself in that you aren't very religious and don't plan on being rewarded for your life of toil in the afterlife. With that in mind, since we only have this short span of time (75 years on average) what plans do you have for your legacy. Personally in 100 years I'd like to have "the Great" attached to the end of my name however I have ALOT of work to do to achieve this.
Does anyone want to be remembered? If so for what? If not why not? If someone wrote a book on your life how would it read? Is anyone going to leave their mark on this world regardless of the perception left behind. (ie are you the next Hitler or Osama Bin Laden or Mother Theresa or Ghandi) Since this time is all we have... how grand are your visions of your own life?

I would like to be remembered as many things.
The guy who:
multiplied his wealth significantly in the shortest length of time
helped the biggest number of people from poor and 3rd world countries to have a better life
solved the biggest political problems of our day
there are a few more but can't remember 'em at the moment...
i know some of these targets are very ambitious indeed but you must set your targets high in order to be able to achieve them. If i really tried i'm sure i could.

if someone wrote a book right now on my life...it would be full of extremely mundane things with something exciting happening ever few chapters.
but on the subject of rememberance...i think i would like to be remembered for working so damn hard my whole life and living comfortably at the end.

I'd like to be remembered as a prolific tagger, who influenced a lot of kids in his time and to those close to me I'd like to be remembered as the guy who knew his shit on taboo activities such as explosives, poisons, guerilla combat etc.
Life is full of suprises and things change without us knowing. I mean I changed over night. I went from a drunk with no ambitions to wanting to be something.
I don't think we can say hand on heart what we want to remembered for because we change so fast. That's my opinion. But this is a good thread.
Thumbs up dude.

If I could be granted this wish- I would be a soldier who paid the ultimate price for the sake of a mate.

I think my best chance of fame is going down in history as the father of x, y or z.
Inventor, artist, scientist, athlete, genious... I dunno, we'll see what happens.

First and foremost I'd like to be remembered as a man who gave who gave his "all" for the sake of friendship and companionship towards other people.
...and I would also like to be remembered for being these things:
A rockstar and guitar virtuoso(sort of like Dimebag Darrel of Pantera)
Always "reasonable"
Powerful
Ambitious and Determined
Being viciously loyal towards my friends
Wild and Exciting
Intelligent & Intellectual
..and the list goes on. I feel an incredible amount of euphoria just by thinking how pleased I would be should I die being remembered this way. I guess becoming this way would be my ultimate goal in life even if I believe that life truly has no purpose.
What can I say? I love people, heavy metal and intellectual debate.
