Is it just me, or did the world skip over thanksgiving this year? Every year in my town stores sell holliday decorations earlier and earlier, but this year they seem to have completely skipped over hollidays. The holliday that I speak of is Thanks Giving. they stuck halloween stuff out 2 months ago, and then 2 weeks after they started selling halloween shite, some places started putting bits of christmas crap out. there isnt TOO much christmas stuff out at the moment, but there's NO thanks giving stuff, and there hasnt been. is it the same anywhere else? Im beginning to think that my town has no time for giving and being thankful, but only time for getting, stealing, and fucking (in all meanings of the last word).

my town has begun putting up the christmas decorations all over the town. they put up the christmas tree that stands in the middle of town on the 2nd. they have also put up some of the wreaths on the light poles like they do every year. and i have seen no where that is selling thanksgiving decorations. its a sham.

Two things.
1. Political Correctness. In London, it has become 'offensive' to use the word Christmas, and in leaflets the word Christmas has been replaced with things like Holiday.
2. The world is ending. Humans are getting wiped out in large numbers. Natural disasters are fighting back for the planet, humans are getting more efficient at killing each other, and in a lot of cases it's justified within one's peer group if not nationally (armys?) Crime is on the up, even in places like Australia, which was always described as a heaven of sorts when I was growing up... you do well in school, earn lots of money and move to Australia. These days, where is there to go where you are safe and comfortable? You can, of course, go to Canada with their extreme climate but no crime, or go further south with the murderers and rapists and rappers but nice weather. There's little choice for people any more, and when one of their loved ones gets killed by a passing vehicle or tropical storm or domestic pet on PCP, they're going to lose more hope, life seems pointless and even if they concentrate on what little good there is left on their lives, they're not going to care about Thanksgiving or Christmas or Valentines day, just on getting this day past to find out whats coming next.
Then again, there's the lazy, the incredibly rich, the crippled, the junkies, the paedophiles and any other sex offenders, the workaholics... with such burden in your life how would you find time to think about holidays? You're gonna be thinking about where you're going to find the money for your next hit or where you're going to find a 12 year old boy to molest or what you're going to buy so you don't get taxed as much this year... lots of people's minds.
Then there's the people who live their boring lives looking forward to the holidays every year... I guess retail outlets are starting to think less about this minority.
Well that was a pointless pile of drivel, eh?

It's not all bad. There are plenty of extremes. A world without justice.. But that's life! I really want to go to Canada next year. We'll see.
