Need help fixing a bong

Does anybody know how to replace the female part on bongs? At some point, the male got knocked around while still in the Barney Rubble and the pressure broke the bong's female part. I have a 9mm glass tube i will use to replace it, but once i find out how. And if that doesn't work, i'm taking the tube and a bottle and making a one-hitter bong.

You mean the threaded pipe that connects the bowl to the bong?
If so, have a friend make one or ask your local headshop. :)

i went to a head shop and found a replacement glass female part, but now the problem is the female part: it is an inch too long. and yes, it is the inner glass part on a bong, the part that the slide goes into. so now the question is, how do a cut away an inch of glass?

Either a glass cutter, or a brand new file. Get a brand new file, or one that's made for glass. you would file around the entire outside edge. To score it you have to actually file a good visibly deep scratch into the glass tube. Once you've scored the outside of the glass tube all the way around you would wrap a piece of cloth around the tube and attempt to bend it. You would apply pressure with your thumbs in such a way so that the glass breaks along the score.

get a torch lighter and then hold the newly broken edge of the tube in the flame. when you do this it rounds off the edges of the tube so that th arent all rough and stuff from when you broke it.

To use the glass cutter you just go around the tube a couple of times with the cutter and then follow the breaking and flame treating of the tube. Make sure that the glass cutter scored the glass somewhat deeply before you try to snap it though or the whole tube can shatter into more than the 2 pieces that it should break into.

Scoring the glass with a triangular file worked perfectly. Barney Rubble works just as well as he used to. Thanks for all the help.

as long as it's fixed then all is good. i used to have a resectable bong but couldnt be assed to fix it once i broke it so i just dumped it :p
