so, last friday i was partying and decided to switch parties and go to one about 10 miles from where i live. went there, and started to have a good time when one of my friends comes up to me and asks if i could drive this girls' car home because she couldnt. not thinking i was that impaired i said sure and went to her car. anyway, i got on the road and started to head to her house to drop off her car and wait to be picked up. but i never got that far. the road from the party turns into a T intersection. i missed the stop sign and went clear across the road. once i was on the other side of the road i slammed on the brakes and hit a small ditch.at that point the airbag deployed and i ran into some woods. at which point the car died. i tried to start it and nothing happened. so when my buddy that was gonna follow me got to the intersection he hopped out and asked if i was alright. i said yeah and to go ahead and take her home. so i was sitting there for about 15 minutes when a cop rolls by. i wasnt sure if he saw me until i saw him hit his brakes pretty hard. at which point he turns around. i was drunk so i didnt try to run because i figured that there was no way i would be able to outrun him, being that im of such large stature and all. so he comes up to me and asks what happens, i tell him and he asks me to step up to the road with him. ok thats cool. but here it comes...the field sobriety test....the one where you stick your leg out and hold your foot approximately 6 inches off the ground until he says to stop. he did it..and counted to 20 while doing it. i tried it and got to two. so yeah he cuffs me and sticks me in the car. we ride to county jail. jail isnt a good place to be coming down off of your drunkness in. we went through all the procedures and all that crap. i spend the rest of the night in jail until about 12pm. i got there at 3:30am. i see the judge at around 1030 that morning i think. he hands me the ticket and it has a number with a dollar sign at the bottom....$992. holy shit. thats a lot of cash. but i find out after i get out that i will have to get SR-22 insurance for the next 3 years. which around here is damn near 3 or 4 times the amount of normal insurance. anyway the point of this thread was to see if anyone else has had a D.U.I.?

Luckily, no.

I have an incredibly lucky friend.

One night we were drinkin'... I passed out at some stage, and woke up at 5am. Feelin' shitty and hung-over, I wanted to go home, but I couldnt find my motorbike keys anywhere. I woke up my mate and he informed me of a little idea he had after i fell asleep.

He took my bike to the shop for cigarettes, and was pulled over. He was well over the limit and was escorted back to the station, where my bike remained.

So I was standing at the local police station at 5.30am, freezing cold, hung-over, with bail conditions stating I was not allowed to drink alcohol, be with certain people including the one who was caught with the bike, and be in said town unless I was working or signing (had to sign a form in the police station every thursday afternoon)...

I wasn't feelin' too safe... luckily, the cops on a Sunday morning are totally different than a Thursday evening. I didn't have tax and the MOT was almost up. They looked at my license and breathalised me. It was amber, and they asked me to come back in a few hours. After a lot of effort, I got the bike out of there and stuck to 30mph the whole way through the town.

A month or so after this, I got a call from the police station on my mobile... I shit myself, and didnt answer it. They'd ring a few times a day until I finally answered. I never wondered why they didnt ring the house... When I answered, it was some chick wanting me to make a statement about my mate takin' the bike. Basically to say I didnt give him permission but I wasnt pressing charges... I got it over with.

This was a long time ago, and he still hasnt had as much as a phone call about this. The cops here aren't the kind to let you off with ANYTHING, thats the choice of the judge... we still wonder if he's gonna get a knock at the door, when some cop cleans his desk.
