Im 15 yrs old and I thought it would be a good idea to just... get away for awhile. Has anyone here ever ran away just for fun? And any tips?

Well, that depends on your plan. Is it going to be a short-term or long-term thing? Run-away for good or just so you can suck up to mommy and daddy later?LOL.. Whats your plan? How do you think your parents/guardians will react before/after? Think about the whole thing. You can benefit or lose from this, depending on the circumstances.

Well Im thinking short term, I just read like 30 pages of Evasion and something about it just seems appealing... besides the eating out of the dumpster part. Its kind of like being a camping/survival person but using urban survival instead. Afterwards depending on the note I wrote Id prlly get lots of junk from my parents... I live in NY and Id prlly make it to FL and back. Sounds long term but could prlly pull it off in 2 weeks. Employ shoplifting to make money or just flat out steal food. Ya....

I think it's a pretty bad idea, you're 15, you don't know what the hell you're doing. I don't care what book you've read, unless you have actually done it before, or done something like it, I say you're doomed to fail.

When I was seventeen I left home, for six months I went from pillar to post... getting home again felt so good after it.

I think you should do it. And take pictures along the way and post them here for our amusement. I mean, you read 30 pages of a book, what better reason is there to run away?

Just visualize him begging for dollars in down town New York then taking the sweet liberty of kicking him in the teeth and ripping the pages out of that damn book. Hah hah.
Price of buying him some food - $6
Price buying him a blanket - $10
Kicking the emo fuck in the face - Priceless.
Sorry, I?m drunk.
In fact no I?m not. Sorry I mean? somewhat amused to be frank? at his pathetic expense.

Apologies for my sudden outburst? I was playing Op Flashpoint all morning, blame shell shock not me ;)
I have nothing against anyone running away if they have a shitty home life and if they have a bit of knowledge of what street life is like but I just get pissed off with kids who have everything mammy and daddy can give them (I?m not aiming this at you TheInCircut) and the amount of police time wasted on searching for them and the hurt it causes the family.
TheInCircut, it?s good that you?ve decided against the idea. Thumbs up.
who's house?

Running away for fun? Seems like a good idea
Just take some money to get home in case something bad happens (and it probably will)

No, it's not too fun not having a home to live in. I've been kicked out of my house before in the middle of the pouring rain having to walk around for about an hour just to look for a place to stay. Take my word for it, it isn't fun at all.

surviving on da streets with no money is hard as fuck.
stealing is easy, yeah, but after sleeping outside for a few days, you'll be dirty and will smell like shit, and even if you were allowed in a store, they'd keep their eye on you.
o_O.
unless you have hunting skillz and can even get out of the city (toronto is fucking gargantuan, so simply getting out would actually be a problem for me), unless you're willing to live on charred squirril, you ain't gonna survive, boi.
also, at 15, if you try hitchhiking, you will get raped. 100%.
i know hitchhikers in their 20s who have experience (did a small trek with someone with experience) who can get across canada no problemo, but even they spend money, and they have a lot of equipment.
so ye, it isn't as impossible as marsupials itt make it out to be, but it ain't easy at all.
