I registered a domain name on a whim and slapped a forum up under a subdomain. I could use a mod or two, and anyone who has a suggestion on what the site should actually contain or wishes to help out in anyway is more than welcome and will receive my undying gratitude.

The forum is located at http://www.forums.pussytime.net

The site proper is at http://www.pussytime.net

Just a basic phpBB2 forum. I installed a mod that allows me to set forums where post counts do not go up. But part of the mod required me to change the default subSilver style template that came with the forum software. I don't know shit about php, but I'm assuming that if I change my style the mod will be broken. I'm bound to change it as soon as the site is built to be consistent with the style. Anyone care to help out patching the style to accommodate the mod when I do this?

A sex forum!! Sweet!

I'll mod for ya... Im already an admin here and a global mod at pharm, was a mod at Pier and an admin at the safehouse. Is that enough, or do ya need my CV? ;)

What I would do, make the forum soely about sex. Experiences, problems... even branch off into relationships etc etc.

What do ya think?

I'll mod for ya in the a/v section if you want. Have ya set your mind on using phpBB or would you change if a better one came your way?

Check that out if you're looking for info on a forum software. Unless you're happy with phpBB that is.

If you want to stick with free forum software, I was quite fond of SMF.

Yeah, SMF rocks! We had it as a test server before buying vB for rorta. It was in beta and a little buggy at the time but now it's a full stable release. It's so customisable too and has a cult userbase who develop many addons and plugins.

Another few I like are miniBB (http://www.minibb.net/), Phorum (http://www.phorum.org/) and Quicksilver (http://www.quicksilverforums.com/), all are php based. Quicksilver is based on the MercuryBoard which has been around some time and you may be familiar with.

I don't like phpBB beacuse it's so generic and it's just everywhere. Same could be said for vB but with the work I'm going doing on it this year it won't resemble vB at all.

[edit:] Oh yeah, my advice also is to stick to a PHP and SQL board because they are the most common language/database combo in use in forums. If you decide to change software (let's say you want vB when the site grows) then you should be able to do so with minimal disruption and hassle.

I may change over to smf this weekend , after some research.

Is it possible to change forum software without destroying my SQL database? It's kinda a hassle.

Yeah, if you have a look on the smf homepage or if not google you should find a conversion tool from phpbb to smf.

You should be able to change from phpBB to pretty much anything without a whole lot of hassle...

The thoughts of using phpBB again send a shiver up my spine, now Im used to the vB control panel.

Oh, I just deleted everything and started over from scratch. SMF is up. It kicks phpBB's ass so far. A lot more features and control options included in the default settings. phpBB has a huge morass of mods that have to be installed to get any kind of meaningful control. So if you were registered on the phpBB experiment, you need to reregister as I deleted the database. Oops. Send me a message if you want to mod or admin anything. If it is allowed, I'm going to try to give mods privileges to alter boards within their own category. The main site still needs work. I drummed up a very small amount of work for the main page. it now has a couple of tables with no formatting and an image I'm thinking of using as the logo. The image itself is a very rough photoshop crapfest I slapped together. It could use work. Anyone who wants to help out with the site design send me a message.

I'll help with the design if you want. I know XHTML and CSS better than I know that language they speak in England as well as Flash and Photoshop. Is the site going to be dynamic and using server side programming?
