Explosives and pyrotechnics

Basically I am new here and want to get started with Explosives and Pyrotechnics. If anyone could give me any sites or easy experiements I could do to get me started I would really appreciate it. Thank you. or just post some books that are good for explosive making. I will start off. Take a water bottle and put about 2 inches of toilet bowl cleaner with hydrochloric aci in it. Then drop in some alluminum foil and cap. Shake it up then throw. The Works toilet bowl cleaner is the only one I have tried.

You will want to get the basics of black powder and what it is made out of. Learn stuff you can make with BP (black powder). Then buy some kno3, sulfur, charcoal. 75/15/10

75-kno3, 15-charcoal-10 sulfur. (make 10 gram batches if your starting out)

Grind each in a coffee grinder for 30 seconds and taking 30 second breaks, then grind for 30 seconds again.

Then wiegh your stuff, for a 10g batch do 7.5g, 1.5g, 1.0g Put in a mixture and shake

put that in a coffee grinder for 30 seconds (nothing will happen).

Then put it in a container and wet it, just so it is in chunks, and not dripping wet...you want it like...just clumpy.

then put it on a piece of wax paper, then put a piece of wax paper on the powder, then use a rolling pin and roll it flat.

let this dry

and when your done, you will have FAST burning greenmix.

You sound like you want something with a loud bang since H2SO4 and tin foil isn't really..at all..a bomb..it's more of a pressure thing.

I would suggest looking into AP (acetone peroxide) or HMTD, treat it with respect, and move on from there.

I think you should make a small amount of AP, get that figured out, buy some Ammonium Nitrate, and make some APAN for a nice loud bang.

You sound like you're either just inexperienced or stupid and only time will tell. Ignorance is fine as long as you have humility, but stupidity will get you injured very badly in this.

you want a n3wb to start with AP or HMTD? dude try something with a less chance of unpressurized detonation like BP or Flash powder. much easier for a newb and a lot safer. they dont have near the noise or power of either HMTD or AP but they are still fun to make firecrackers with.

Well I started with AP, it teaches you right off the bat to respect the explosive your handling.

The main reason I said this is because he sounds like he's under 18, if your under 18 AN is a bitch and a half to get, in my area at least. Almost 100% of places will ask you for ID if your buying AN, and if a random bag of fertilizer or stump remover shows up at your house someone is asking some questions.

If you're over 18 then by all means start with black powder or flash powder (I'd suggest BP 1st since FP can be pretty powerful).

For a noob AP is the easiest thing to make..it may not be the safest thing, but by god it's the easiest.

A suggestion for you is NEVER handle bone-dry AP, always keep it a little bit damp, slightly damp AP will perform almost as well without the chance of blowing your fingers off.

2 completely different chems Death. i may not remember much about my explosives, but the fertilizer you're describing is 30-0-0 a.k.a. Ammonium Nitrate. the stump remover youre talking about is Potassium nitrate.
and ammonium nitrate in the ammounts needed to make a few grams of AP can be procured by getting a couple instant cold packs.

I was just saying that to make a point lol by the way you said the amount needed to make a few G of AP can be found in a cold pack. You mean to amount to equal it correct? Neither AN or KNO3 are used for AP.

like i said, i may not remember much about explosives. its been a goddamn long time since ive fucked with anything complicated. but yeah you're right, neither ammonium nitrate or potassium nitrate are used in the manufacture of AP

"fertilizer bomb" Easy? It sounds to easy on the net but then again I dont trust over 70% of the shit on the net.
Anyone here make one? Im fairly sure that its a lot harder than what the net would have you belive. I dont want to make one but it just seems like its saying ok.. now all you need to do is soke it in fuel and light it and bobs your uncle. It has to be false.

AP detonators with a APAN booster are simple and cheap, too bad that they are not safe.

I just know the theory and accumulate chems to star experimenting with safer alternatives, I could synth/make AP, APAN, ANFO, NG, PGDN and EGDN right on the spot(ok I would have to boil the sulfuric acid to a higher concentration but I have two liters of the stuff).

I'm thinking about HMTD (unsafe but safer than ap) cap and PGDN/AN maincharge, some day.

The last post (micro) is sensible... But FUCK APAN. Use the AN and NG/ other liquid nitric ester to make ammonia dynamite.

I suggest AP to GET SOME RESPECT and NG to make dynamites for general 'blastin around'.
