View Full Version : Shoplifting - Good Idea?

First of all, this is my third official post:

Anyway, I've been thinking of shoplifting lately, and Swim has done it a couple of times, but one idea that sticks to my mind is this one (Originally posted on the &T Boards but just cause you guys are so cool, I'mma hook you up)

Okay, so I've only done small things in cam-less shops/stores (Nothing big, mostly under 40$, Im not saying Im good). But I was thinking, in big places, this sorta seems cliche, but whatever:

Okay, so usually, there is a mall security booth, (At least in the 3 malls in my city) and every time I go there I see nobody watching the security cams (They are in plain view).

So, couldn't you get a partner and a cell phone to tell you if they are watching or not?

and even if they were, you could knock on the securtiy door and go check the lost and found (Great resource by the way, I got an Ipod Nano out of it!!!) while your friend does their business in plain veiw of the camera?

I'd be willing to try, but it seems none of my friends are interested in this sorta stuff.

Another idea(Not the standard):

You can bring an old reciept with you to the store of your choice, grab a high value item, walk around for a bit, act like its yours (Of course). Then, wait for a shift change...?? Yeah?? wheels are turning... anyway, you could even go further by doing some recon on a certain day every week (Tues.),

say there is this dumb chick that comes in every Tues at 5:00PM, and the big tough guy leaves at 5:05, so you just wait til he's gone, then leave like you paid for it - Or have your friend say "Alright can we go?? You already bought (Insert item), lets f-ing go!" Then you leave without looking back...

Someone experiment, again, I have no accomplaces to work with in my school, so I aint tryin it

I aint being big headed or anything, but I think people who have to ask about shoplifting should just stay clear of doing it. I dunno, it's like a second nature to me.

Sounds like your a pro if its second nature. We are here to discuss methods on how to better our game. Dudes methods sound legit but when it comes down to it cameras arent the only thing to worry about its more of weather or not the employees will bust you if they see you.

Hmm I wouldn't say I'm a pro though. I mean in everyday life I am paranoid as fuck yet when out on the rob I feel alone with ma thoughts sort ov thing and I don't try to act natural or anything, it just comes to me lol, then I walk out a tad bit better off. and i won't even bother sayin how i do it because the way I steal is so simple?

I think thieves are born... bear in mine I've been stealing from a young age.

That's an interesting point. I remember when i first began partaking in the five fingered discount. I was a little scared but I did it and I've been doing it every since. It is second nature to me now. I wrote a manual on shoplifting (it's on this site somewhere) but I've found that I don't even go through all of that crap anymore with all of the techniques and whatnot. I just take and leave now. If u really have it in you, there gets to be a point in time where it's just like breathing, it is even easier for you and more natural than paying for your stuff. There comes a point in time when paying for your stuff feels weird and you wonder what is going through the minds of those people you see standing in line to pay for their goodies when they could just leave with them and not stand in line.

Because there is already an overabundance of shoplifting threads, and I did not feel that your "contribution" (a link to the Wikipedia entry for 'Shoplifting') warranted a thread of its own.

Let's not get drunk with power, Diz. I see you "cracking down", but sometimes you just have to let threads evolve, and the board too. Too tight a reign will drive people away, and lots of threads evolve to banter of some kind, not just here, but every board. I agree that there's been a lot of fluff posts going around, but most newbies are like that. And while there are many shoplifting threads, 5555 is just eagerly trying to contribute to this board. Is that so wrong? Don't believe me, take a look at his posts. Just contributing. And speaking of contributing, when you moved his post, did you remove the link or did 555 edit his on his own in that regard?

Cheers!

Well if you don't want so many shoplifting threads then why not just make an official shoplifting thread. Thats what totse and the-militia did. I posted a link to the shoplifting wikipedia page because it had some usefull shoplifting techniques. My post didn't really belong in this topic so I edited it out.

Cool, we understand what you were doing |55555| but there's been a few times a discussion on shoplifting has come up and people just post a link to the wikipedia page on shoplifting.

There are so many threads created on shoplifting so often that it becomes monotonous to keep reading the same thing over and over and over, at least for the people who have been here for a while.

Thank you for your input though, and if you feel you can contribute something that hasn't been contributed many times before, then we welcome your input.

An official thread for shoplifting techniques is a good idea also, thanks.

Lando2! Go practice! The only way to know if somethings going to work is to try it. I know I wouldn't be able to try a lot of those techniques because my town's mall sounds a lot different in it's set up. So go try it out and let us know what works.

Indeed! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Diz is an awesome guy. Hope you don't take my response personally.

Dizzie pwns. I read his guide on textfiles.com on torturing people. Tell me dizzie, have you ever had to use the techniques in that guide?

you're putting too much thought into this, dont worry about any shift change crap and dont worry about saying something as you walk by the cashiers. trust me, saying nothing as you go by is the least suspicious thing you can do. remember you're just walking out with an item you purchased, the only problem you might run into is if its a place like fry's where they will check your receipt before you leave.

edit: also, does anybody know if they check the trash bags in the bathrooms for package wrappers and boxes that were opened in the bathroom and their contents stolen?

No, they don't go digging through the trash. Imagine if you had a shitty job of cleaning the bathroom, your already wiping toilets and scrubbing piss floors... do you really want to take a look through the garbage? And if persay you were to find something in the trash, 1) Would you tell someone and have the chance that they would think your digging through the trash to find gold? 2) There is no evidence that the item in the trash ties to the person who shoplifted, even if they did end up having something in their pocket there is nothing that states that item isnt yours (Unless you were found on camera grabbing the product/someone saw you grabbing the product/someone saw you with the product before you entered the bathroom).

I guess it all depends on the situation... If you got caught, police got called, police came, cant find or collaberate evidence against you... then they'll search through the trash.

Note: IF GIVEN THE CHANCE TO TELL THEM WHERE IT IS IN EXCHANGE THAT YOU LEAVE AND DON'T COME BACK, TAKE IT! I have only been caught once shoplifting when i was 15 years old, and I was given the chance to tell them where I put everything (A box of coricidin, the wrong kind anyways... I was very sloppy and discombobulated at the time) and it was in my pocket... Wrong choice saying "I dont know what you guys are talking about" because after I said that he patted me down and I was carted off to the police station. Don't get caught up in the moment, its like playing poker... You can bluff your ass off after the flop, and you can continue bluffing your ass off after then next two cards... In the end you have 1000$ on the table, you have 500$ left, and the other guy raises the steaks and you either go all in or give him all your chips you laid down... Be a man and admit you were bluffing, or you'll loose it all and be in more shit than you already are!

That's not a good way to play poker.

I was just pointing out that you have all of your chips on the table, and you dont have shit except a police officer staring you down about to haul your ass to the station >.> and 1 chance to redeem yourself
