Has anybody here successfully installed it? Has anybody even tried and failed?

Last year I worked with a guy who modded the hell out of Windows so much that the GUI was essentially indistinguishable from OS X.
Honestly, with the new MacIntels, I think you'd be better off buying a Mac and booting Windows whenever you need to. But then, I'm a born-again Powerbook junkie, so take that for what it's worth. ;)

I have a fairly powerful PC that I built for a fraction of the cost of an equivalent mac. I use Pro Tools alot and it runs much better on OSX. I would rather run it natively than on vmware. I know the Core 2 Duo has great virtualisation capabilites but I'd rather run natively for evry last bit of juice. Most guides I found on the internet are for vmware install. The other guides, well, I can't find the files I need to complete them.

I've been to that site, but none of their methods of install work for me. All my hardware is on the HCL but it still won't work.

Except using Boot Camp is piss easy and Vista sucks.

i have successly done this three times now. Once on my desktop, and Twice on my ASUS a6jc laptop. I installed the cd, and it worked fine. I had to do quite a bit of work after that. I loved working on that project though. I decided to just buy a mac after that though:)
