Any Absinthe types around here ?
If so whats your fave brand of Absinthe ?
Lately Ive been really enjoying the Jade Absinthe Edouard 72, at 103$ usd a bottle its a bit pricey but one bottle lasts me quite some time (I tend to horde my expensive boozahol). The effect of it is a quite clean/clear drunk that one finds with quality absinthe. Instead of being all stumbling/idiotic Ive found that it instead tends to make things clearer and brighter.
Anyone else have the same experiances with Thujone containing booze ?

I've never had it before, but I know how to make it homemade. Ugh, I'm dying to try the stuff.

The homesteeped stuff is kinda *meh* in my openion. best just to pay the extra money for good stuff. And plus its a status symbol I guess. My ex boyfriend decided to buy me the 160$ bottle stuff to impress me once, heh anyways.
Im sure with a decent recipe you could make some way better product if your into distilling your own beverages at all (I personally dont even have my still set up at the moment ) But Ill ask around for a good recipe, and maybe do a test run to let yall know if ya want =)

AbsintheSupply.com has a nifty "party mix" of their offered brands. I've had their King of Spirits GOLD, Red Absinthe, and Staroplezenecky...all quite good. The KOS only takes one shot, though, and you're feeling mighty fine...140-proof, 100mg/l thujone in that bad boy.
Good times, my friends, good times. :)

I don't believe its legal to ship absinthe to the US commercially, but does anyone know if privately sent bottles are legal? Say if I sent someone some money and they sent me a bottle? I can't really afford to go to Europe just to try absinthe.

It's illegal to buy and sell in the United States, but if you use a site, say AS, to order from Europe, you can still get it. It's not illegal to own or possess, you can still drink in private residences and things of that nature. You jsut can't sell or distribute to the public.

I'll send you a bottle of Hapsburg (sp?) Absinth (74% I think) if you can pay me through paypal. I'll have to check the price though. Let me know if you're interested.

Something I've found awhile ago. The FAQ has answers about where it can ship too and it can be shipped anywhere including the U.S.
They also accept PayPal and Cash too I believe.

I believe one of the loopholes some places use is they dont sell you the absinthe......
they sell you the bottle, it just so happens to contain absinthe ^-^.
I love pointless laws sooooo much

It's in the eBay policy somewhere, if you state that in the item decription, you can sell it legally. There was something about it on &T or Erowid...

You can legally buy synthetic Absinthe in Australia in plenty of bottle shops. Although it contains pretty low Thujone levels...
I'd much prefer the real stuff.

Real Absinthe doesn't contain much thujone either. That's just a myth. (If that's what you were implying).

I meant lower than usual. But low is a comparison, there aren't low levels of thujone in most Absinthe, there's average levels of thujone in most absinthe.
Unless you were comparing the levels of thujone to the total Absinthe volume.

That post was all over the place. "Real" absinthe has very low thujone levels. Unless you're buying something that's thujone free (which means it's not absinthe at all), then it's absinthe. I don't see where the confusion is arising.
