But, I really didn't know that different stores used different barcodes. I have dozens of times returned gifts to walmart. I didn't think they had all actually come FROM there.
The other day me and my friend grabed a copy of the first season of dallas from VV and decided to try and return it to Wal-Mart. I work there (Ugh. I don't even SHOP there) in electronics, and knew we sold it for $40ish. We got told it was the wrong barcode, and kept pressing it, until we realzied we were wrong. Walking otu with it we set off the sensor, and got chased out of the store. I'm glad I lay low, and none of the four managers on our tail recognized me.

I still don't get it I can't get chased out of wal-mart I have tried!!! I mean I have not stole from them on purpose but I have acted really shady even though I payed for the item the person at the door should have no clue I didn't steal it considering I am running out of the store with the item without a bag and no reciept in hand!!! I just want to out run them...

Wow, what a story man.
Sometimes items have two barcodes. Like one comes from the manufacterer and is the upc code like on the bottom of a box of Chex cereal. The other barcode is a store barcode. Some items have both and some items have either one or the other. If you're going to do the jack and take back scam and you don't do it at the same store you stole the stuff from then be sure to steal something that is carried at both stores like centrum vitamins or something.

Is there a sticker over the original barcode on the one in walmart? When a product is labeled it usually uses the same barcode everywhere. Where I work, sometimes a product barcode might not be on the system and a sticker with a 6 digit product code is stuck over it. We just use the product code but maybe a place like Walmart prints different barcodes.

I checked out all of these factors before hand. Wal-Mart did sell the item, and the box didnt have an extra barcode. Oh well. Next time I scam Wally World Ill get the item there.
