how to fight with a shank and other prison weapons

My freind is sadly going to jail. he needs some help. He was always a good fighter with hand to hand combat, but he never trained with weapons. He wants to know(as do I) how to fight witha shank. there ar basically two types of shanks. the first is the one which you can stab with(mainly just a peace of metal or a kitchen knife) that I assume you stab at the solar plexus and the face and mayby the midsection and groin area. and the other is the slasher. this is mainly a razor blade attached to something. this i assume you slash at the face and throat and arms. Also he told me about this sock which you put a ar of soap in and swing it. how do you fight with this? just swing it and try ad hit the head? If anyone know how to fight with any of these weapons please help. thanks

PS I always assumed that shank was stabby and shiv was slashy. Yeah?

From my expierence in jail and prison none of the methods you mentioned would work. Shanks are not fought with, they are used when you are sleeping or not aware and they always get stabbed in the kidney or belly because if you are getting shanked it is to kill you. Plus the only way to get one is to have someone smuggle it in, the utensils you get to eat with are plastic, your razor is collected and inspected after you use it, your socks are tiny ankle socks that you wear with jesus slippers... All the fighting that occurs is all hand to hand, but it is mostly gang style beatings on individuals. If you keep to yourself you are fine but if you show weakness you will get the crap beaten out of you even if you can... If he is in just jail he is fine but if he gets prison I would tell him just keep to himself unless he wants to risk getting in a gang which could be horrible choice if he fucks up.... I kept to myself in prison and I did fine for until my last month because people knew I was getting out and everyone tried to beat the crap out of me... I hope he just gets jail

The entire time I was in jail there were few fights everyone just chilled and talked when I got transfered to prison it was entirely different. It seemed you could not get in trouble for fighting but as soon as any sort of weapon was used you were fucked... I heard of people getting stabbed in their sleep but the closet thing to armed comat that I saw was one guy using a chair. When you are in there you are constantly counted and patted down ALL the way... and if they find any sort of weapon on your body consider yourself fucked. They make sure it is almost impossible to have any sort of weapon I knew a guy who tore the sleeve off his jacket tied it up and was looking for something to put in there (they use liquid soap) and they found his torn up jacket and the sleeve and he caught charges and was isolated... Your buddy really doesn't need to learn how to knife fight but rather get as big as he can before he goes... because size matters and if he does get in a fight it most likely not going to be one on one but 5 on one so tell him just keep to himself.

alright thanks for the advice. me and him workout evryday together we both box, kickbox, and wrestle together. I taught him a little knife fighting also.

I suppose you could steal a couple of pool balls and put them into a sock (we get normal socks) but there'd be a lock down and everyones cell would be frisked. (This was in YOI).

Anyways, sorry for going a little off topic here.

You're friend, crzydan, should try to get some mates in jail for protection or other things.
But he must be careful, Thrust is something of great value in jail.
But you never know who you can thrust.

Also i think that you're friend needs to "Judge" the jail a little, like "Danger Factor" so that he knows what's coming to him,
before something bad happens to him he should be prepared.

You could try to ask around about the jail, for example, Do you know the x Jail ?, If the person answers with yes ask about how dangerous it is,
and what kind of people are walking in there..

There R 4 Takes in doing a HIT in prison.
Take 1 - Go at with hands
Take 2 - Lock in a sock "You buy the lock of commissary" - Cost is about 13 dollars (I have taken chunks the size of softballs out of heads this way)
Take 3 - Razor - Slice the throat, face, etc.
Take 4 - Chop him up. "Shank" I have made shanks out of everything from a chicken bone - to plexiglass mirrors to steel. You get the steal from the S.U.I. shops or take the razor out of the pencil sharpener "again buy off commissary" and score the inside lip of the foot locker attached to the bunk in the cell over and over than bend back in forth over and over to break off. Than you sharpen on the concrete floor of your cell. Do this under your bunk so when the C.O. does count he doesnt see the floor all gouged up because its hidden under the bunk.
