Travel Forum
We had a travel forum up briefly before the rollback, but it never came back. Can we get that back? Like I said before, I can definitely contribute some good info on that subject.

Really? You've been to 139 countries, Vatican City and Antarctica? Nice!
Africa is great, btw. |

Re: Travel Forum
I've been to:
North America: Canada (all provinces except Nunavut, NWT and PEI) US (mostly far east and west coast) and Mexico (mostly Puerto Vallarta) Europe:Germany, Poland, Austria, Holland, San Marino, Italy, Cezch rep. and switzerland. My favorite places are Austria and Germany. I like the people, the land is beautiful, the languages are sexy. Though I'd still prefer to live in Canada. |

Re: Travel Forum
Germany for me, on both occasions was pure beauty. I went to Germany with school friends when I was about thirteen or so. It was non-stop beauty. Hell, even the Camps I went to were in beautiful settings.

Re: Travel Forum
Marrakech and Fez. Both are great in different ways. Rule of thumb, whenever someone is nice to you, especially on the street, they're trying to sell you something or are false guides. Just make some excuse and keep walking. Same goes for shops. If you stop to look, you'll get attention. Always negotiate if you are looking to buy something. Eating in the big square in the Old Town in Marrakech is a great start.

Re: Travel Forum
curently i'm setting up a road trip spanning the a large portian of the usa mainland. i'm going to go to cali ,then to las vegas, to texas to meet some freinds of mine, then to miami. washington DC and quite posibly new york then back home to missouri.
i'm doing this on motorcycle. (an old kawaski vulcan)and i'll be writing my experiance as i go to all these places to see how much they have changed. everythings changed. this road trup is set to take place near the end of febuary. there are still many holes in this plan but by the time i go it will be a close to perfect as posible. the big thing for me is i need free loging like staying at camp grounds or something. sometimes i stop the motorcycle in a parking lot and to to sleep on it. its not bad actually. i might have a 3 gallon touring tank mounted when i have the extra cash.(meaning probobly not gonna happen any time soon) i'm going to save up a few thousand and take a large rucksack and have another bag on the back coushin for the bitch seat. |

Hit me up, I was there for a while fairly recently.
Note to Administration. See, a travel section really is a good idea!

Re: Travel Forum
Nine, better check on the weather. It gets cold going through Cali and the Southwest at night. Good chance of rain, might even snow in Arizona and New Mexico!
Having been all over the SW, I can suggest a few things, but I can't say it'll be easy, or even possible, in winter. How long is your trip? I can't say travelling by bike is great for a long vacation, depending on how physical you're going to be off the bike. |

Re: Travel Forum
A portable harddrive should come in handy for that. Most are pretty cheap for their size. I doubt you'll run out of space on a 500, or even a 250, during one trip.
Good luck on your ride! Let me know if there are things you want to see or routes you want to take in Cali, AZ, NV, NM, CO and Utah. I know some good backroads. |
